What are the largest issues plaguing XIV currently?

I noticed there's a couple threads floating around rn about how the game needs some large changes, but I think it best the wider community be asked this:

    - What do you think is the biggest issue with XIV at current? Do you think that if enough light was brought to said issue (via the subreddits or here on) it will be addressed? Just wondering what this subs biggest gripes are.

Personally, I find gear to be extraordinarily boring. Not only do we have no really interesting pieces (in terms of effects) but substats are so minimal in effect that it's hard to get excited for any new drops. Heck, even the names are boring: [Raid tier] [item slot] of [stat type]. Every item past the first tier, when the iLvl jump is actually somewhat noticeable, is always treated with a "Oh, that's neat."

That being said, I understand why gear is this boring, and I don't expect it to change. I'm not asking for the absolute mess that BFA's gearing system had, but maybe just a little diversity in items wouldn't kill the game. A proc, new stats, some passive non-generic bonus, set bonuses... the game has the functionality to handle these, but I think they're too afraid to confuse new players to add these in.

Adding these features in would be the exact same as just doubling or tripling the current stats, and we're already due for a stat crunch.

On the developer end, yes, they could easily do it, but it's unrealistic to expect it, and it doesn't gain us anything. "Wear this maiming boot and DRG Jump gains 10% more damage" will still just be parsed against its base and substats and where two foot gear have the same bonus, you'll pick the one with crit. It's not adding the sort of dimensionality you think it is, and is making the number crunching more complicated for the server as the damage numbers bigger.

On the player end, nobody should want the shit-pie that was BFA's system, as, if you had gear with unique Job-facing traits like "start Blood of the Dragon with one eye already open" or "Jumps do 10%" damage, every single gear upgrade would have to have better or equal stats—or they'd be disappointing trash.

I have been playing the game since beta and I still love it. I play daily and always find things to do. I have a few nit picks here and there but they don't detract from my overall enjoyment. My point is I don't personally think this game has any major issues.

I would love this. I feel like this game focuses a little too much on boss encounters. I would love some semblance of mechanical density to dungeons... not just the encounters in dungeons. They've alluded to, if not stated outright, that POTD and HOH is their answer to "hard dungeons" but to be honest this doesn't really cut it for me. I need more than "here's hundreds of random floors with random traps/effects."

One of the best things about this game is that it doesn't have that elitist nightmare.

I maxed out Mythic+ rewards with less than half the questions as to my choice of class that I've had to deal with doing post-weekly-lock Savage farm PuGs or even Ex Primals here, regardless of which class I brought -- hardly an "elitest nightmare".

    Odd.

I almost never have anyone mention my chosen job in farms, and I'm a SAM.

I'll take more elitism if it means we get a form of difficult content that actually has replay value outside of just getting better gear that can't be used for anything other then ultimate raids (Which comparatively have even less replay value then Savage unless you want a full collection of weapons for whatever reason).
