They won't, even with this dumb notion of class/job fantasy. I say dumb because if you realise, the bulk of players rarely ever glamour a whole armour set. They might glamour one-2 pieces.

Players these days from what they wear don't seem to care a lot about this class fantasy nonsense.

Right? They'd rather wear a knitted sweater and fuzzy carbuncle slippers.

It doesn't matter if they care or not. The game still remains a fantasy genre, and you only need look at how the MSQ is written, the lore that's canon, the way maps and jobs are designed, the dialogue, among many other things to know this.

I also wouldn't let the minority represent the majority. It is very common for me to see a tank in a frog outfit at the gold saucer. Seeing one in an actual duty is actually quite rare. From my experience, players really enjoy looking the part of their job or role and mixing their own flavour into it.

Where are you playing? Because when I queue for randoms, it's the weapon and stance that lets me know who's who, not the glams. The number of times it's a cute catgirl tank in a cute dress with a giant sword is kind of overwhelming. Also, the number of male characters in a thong running around really makes me question what the actual percentage of .... (nevermind).

Basically, I just got done with a random with a Barista Tank, and hula girl as a Dragoon, and hells, I was doing my Blackknight Red mage look. The Healer was a lala, and frankly, I can never tell what they are going with as their fairy is larger than they are.

I play on Aether. More specifically Siren. A far less populated server than yours. I really shouldn't have to point out that I said, "from my experience" in my post. By stating this, what this does is not allow posters such as yourself to invalidate my post; as much as you would like to try. My last random group all had players looking the part. Not a pig, frog, or bikini among them except maybe the DNC, which is a job already known to be scantily clad during combat. Again I will say that I would not allow the minority to represent the majority. I DO see these players in my duties; but they are nowhere near the same number of players who prefer to look and use glamour options pertaining to their job/role.

I should also mention that little attire =/= poor glamour selection by the player. This seems to be heavily implied by the playerbase when I see bikinis and 2B bottoms being tossed around in their arguments. These glamour choices don't prevent players from being tasteful with their selection, or being true to the job they are playing.

I am also not sure who you are arguing with by telling me you can tell what job a player is by their stance and weapon. I don't seem to recall making any posts where I said job identification is an issue. While I don't want to see any WHMs lugging around a giant axe anytime soon; this argument is neither here or there. We are not talking about their weapons. We are talking about their attire.
