Unmatched in heaven and earth, one body and one soul that challenge the gods!"

I would explain at lenght that safety measure can be taken, and hooking up servers with an exterior provider (as SE does, they don't own their servers btw) is completely safe and doable even in the current pandemic situation. Then again it might vary from country to country.
So yeah, covid doesn't transmit through ethernet cables neither.
And stop assuming so many things. Is bad for you. Takes you from a position of knowledge to one of opinion and that is always... Not good for discussion, some might even call it a logical failure.
For example assuming i don't care about COVID or people working conditions.
Anet released the last patch of GW2 without voice acting due to COVID. Now that understand perfectly.
Not adding servers to an online service... I press X for doubt.

They do own the servers. If you took the time to read the notice on the lodestone maybe you'd understand that.I would explain at lenght that safety measure can be taken, and hooking up servers with an exterior provider (as SE does, they don't own their servers btw) is completely safe and doable even in the current pandemic situation. Also, they aren't adding hdds, that's not the issue with housing. Processing power is, hence the new servers

It seems that you do not realise that people manage these things and setting up servers actually requires some degree of manual labour. It's not all just mouse clicks from a remote location. That can only happen after a considerable amount of set-up done by other people.
I understand the criticism about SE and housing, I very frequently criticise it myself. But that doesn't mean I'm going to say covid cannot be an excuse for delays when I know for a fact that some people need to work on site in order to be able to actually do their job. Not all jobs relating to online services can be done remotely. People need to put the hardware in its physical location. You don't just press a button and *poof* new servers appear all wired up and ready to use.
If governments even in the most powerful and rich countries around the world did not have adequate measures set up to deal with a pandemic then I struggle to understand why you think SE would or should considering they're not a governing body at all and they specialise entertainment, not essential services.
It would of course be nice if everyone could have been prepared but capitalism often doesn't permit this to happen because it is not seen as profitable to prepare for a situation that is deemed to be exceptionally unlikely to happen. This is the only pandemic of this scale that any of us have even seen in our lifetime, and it's true even for the eldest generation. Very few thought this would happen.
