I honestly disagree.

My male healers do wear robes, at least some of the time, and it doesn't magically make them look feminine. Sure it depends on the individual design, but robes are historically male clothing as well and I have absolutely no impression of them looking "girly" just because they're wearing a robe and not a shirt.

If nothing else, surely the image of a wizard in robes is sufficiently established?

1. I did say most of the time.

2. We have plenty of ways around the exceptions, in both class-specific and all-class gear. GNB works well with gatherer sets, but I still like using armoured boots and gloves with it.

3.

This has been my alt's SCH outfit for ages and I never would have thought robes like this don't suit a scholar, even if it's nowhere near the relic designs.

I have an assortment of RDM glamours too but I don't have them linkable right now.

The thing with "very casual wear" is that we do have it in the game. It's all-class glamour gear and you're free to use it on whatever you want. A t-shirt and jeans wouldn't make sense as healer-specific gear, with or without chemist.

Fair enough, and I've had similar thoughts on things - like the Mheg Deaca robe where everyone was showing it off and they're all looking the same because it covers everything - though I do think we get a lot of open-fronted things to work with. Even if it's just a slit, you still have to think about what's visible, and skirts usually flutter up when spellcasting.

On the other hand if they're not doing anything special with role gear for the current "odd jobs" then I don't expect chemist would get a lot of attention either.
