I thought direct chat was the option you had to enable and it was disabled by default? It's been a long time before I've played on a fresh install of the game.nah you got to change a setting to allow facerolling. pressing any other key other than crtl alt or space will go into chat and the chat log looks like this. I saw this alot last night:
player x: facvsadgavssadfaddfadfadfadfadf
player z: adfa adfa dsf23 rfsadf
wipe
Player Tank: ok who messed up? don't be shy we want to help you out so we can past this.
*crickets*
Player X leaves party

I injured my hand years back now, and the QTE made my thumb ache for 3 whole days afterward. None of the other mashers did that to me, so there definitely IS something wrong with this one.

Litterally any button on your keyboard works, not just left click. You talking about the 8man 5.3 MSQ?
It's one button. One Button, that you click though albeit it they give you very little advance warning you need to do so and I nearly lost it because my hand was nowhere near the mouse at the time and I barely grabbed it in time.
That, and... I will admit that having to spam clicks is exhausting for the finger and can actually cause RSI in some individuals. They could at least have like 2-3 buttons you have to click as they light up or something so it ain't just "spam clicks on this button".
Also, how the upper 70% of the meter is impossible to maintain and it always leaves you 2.5 seconds from losing it is kinda stupid too (previous use of the QTEs didn't do this). So if my finger tires out from all the clicking and I lose it, EVERYBODY wipes?
That is absolutely terrible design, now that I think about it.
I had to do the fight twice, and the actual QTE 4 times (first group wiped twice and disbanded, second group wiped once because of no LB3), and on the 4th one, my finger was feeling pretty tired from all the clicking. I didn't know at the time that 1 person failing meant the entire group wipes.
I think if more people knew this then there wouldnt be so much of a problem with it.
The game has confidence in you to spam a button for 10~ seconds at this point, hundreds of hours in. If we complain about even that, SE is just going to go back to handholding us again in MSQ stuff.

We know we can press multiple buttons. It doesn't make a difference. As so many people are saying in this thread, 25 pages long: there is something wrong with this QTE. We have never had issues with the previous QTEs before.Litterally any button on your keyboard works, not just left click.

A couple of decades ago, games for the disabled people were impossible, but the world does not stand still. The more people with disabilities are integrated into our society, the healthier this society is. I'm sorry you don't understand such things.I understand that people have dissabilities, and it sadden me that things like this exist.
But cmon, there is a guys that plays FF14 with his foot, because of his arm deformation. And i'm pretty sure he would be able to find his way around it. Ask friend, familly or someone to help you. I even did it with my nose just to test this.I know its not how it should be played, and what im saying may sound harsh but the world wont always adjust to us. There are people that acomplished great things while having some of the worst disabilities ever seen. That's why i wont accept fact that people want this to be adjusted to them, instead of overcoming this problem alone. If they cant find solution to complete 15 sec of game, then i dont want to even image how they will face problems irl. And no, im not against people with disabilities, i support them whenever i can. (im doing shopping for my neighbour that cant walk)
Many of these people face difficulties and are forced to overcome something, not because they want to be heroes and not because they like to overcome, but because there is no opportunity and tools (yet) to do it in the usual and comfortable way.
Fortunately, most people think differently than you, so now there are bionic limbs, metro stations with special lifts, and so on. If you do not change and adapt the world for people with disabilities, you can lose this world.
There is a guy who plays with his face, there is a person who draws with his mouth, there is ... There are many people who, for lack of opportunities and funds, are forced to adapt. And I'm really sorry to hear about such circumstances. There's an incredibly good Street Fighter V player named Brolylegs. The guy literally plays with his face, way better at the game than I'll ever be.
This is an unkind thing to say, I realize this, but if you are physically incapable of mashing two or three buttons for twenty seconds or whatever it is, you aren't capable of participating in combat at an acceptable level in FFXIV, and have been carried through every duty you have ever joined.
It sucks, but it's the nature of the game. You press a lot of buttons for your general rotation to just play your class.
I have one question. Why should we "play with the face" if the developers can just change one, not so important, part of the mechanics.
I feel like the best thing to do would be to just make it so as long as a certain minimum number of players succeed at the QTE (Like maybe six out of eight or something) everyone survives because having a party wipe mechanic where there's no way of telling who's actually messing it up is just a recipe for frustration and hostility in a group of random players.
It would also be more fair to the odd few people who may be physically incapable of what the QTE demands due to disability, injury, etc, and prevents others from trolling by deliberately failing the mechanic just so they can see others fuss and fume.

If there was a way to tell who messed up it would be even worse. Even more hostility towards that person. We don't want that either, because you never know why they keep failing and whether it's something they can help or not
When people die you can also tell who failed. But if the rest of the party is allowed to continue, then it wouldn't be that bad. Because then the one who failed wouldn't cause a wipe.

Yea I had to disable it on mine. TBF I never really paid attention since I have been using the controller for the past almost 7 years. So its possible I may have enabled years ago lol
but if you see the werwerwer pop up in party chat, they direct chat enabled and they need to disable it to use other keys.

I do agree that this QTE was "harder", it certainly did make you spam much harder than a normal QTE....But otherwise it's exactly the same. It just requires you to spam even harder, is all.

Yes and that is exactly the problem. How many times do I need to repeat that? People are experiencing physical pain because of it.
