    - Normal and Heroic difficulty its pointless from a reward perspective, even more when Blizzard removed set bonuses during BFA. Pretty much, from a raiding standpoint, is mythic or nothing. This is why I stopped playing once Legion hit, finding a stable group for heroic is a nightmare.

    - The whole drama around keys.

    - If you plan to tank you better study, and memorized, the optimal routes for every single instance.

In order to really work for FFXIV it must be a self-contained piece of content, like Eureka or PoTD, with cosmetic rewards only. Also, SE will need to change the way dungeons trash and boss mechanics are approached.
I have heard from friends that the negatives regarding mythic style content though from the outside in the cons do not seem all that much as cons. I mean it far from perfect, though I will confess I stopped playing WoW long before mythic style content was added, and I have. my bias around small form difficult content fits my needs case.

Though I will 100% agree that mythic style is not something that woild be easy to add due to dungeon design, or even would it make sense to add any sense of meaningful progress to the content since it would largely trivialize the desire the run savage style content for many.

Mythic style content is a hail mary for me along the lines of a fat body type character.:P

Reading this thread, as a relatively new player (well, compared to the years played by some of you), I honestly feel this way right now.

Sometimes it is best to avoid the forums. Like right now. You will find the game to be much more enjoyable that way. I'm too far into the deep, but it's not too late for you. SAVE YOURSELF!

    That's good advice.

    Which reminds me:

What is it with people with crowns acting like crap all the time? Gosh.

Played with 2 sprouts, the Mentor is the healer, he's acting like such an ARSE by browbeating the rest of us to follow his rushing pace, admonishing the sprouts for not being able to follow (while the game make clear that one or possibly two of them are new to the dungeon (cutter's cry)), exploding when one of the sprouts accidentally strolls into the Chimera lair--understandable, since he forced us to pull ALL adds into the small area before the boss so the situation is chaotic--all in all being so unbelievably unfriendly and inconsiderate. FUCKing hell.

Another in Aurum Vale, again a mentor as healer (astrologian), DIED TWICE at the Locksmith boss, and then he/she LEFT, leaving me again with 2 sprouts. Goddamnit.

So like, I can't stand people like those, acting like the crown that they wear makes them act like arses towards others, especially new players.

Oh dear, that's a whole other can of worms that has a huge amount of heated threads of its own. They pop up pretty regularly with the same arguments over and over again. Much like threads such as this one players will never agree so the debates are endless with no conclusion in sight.

You can get a mount by doing a certain amount of instances in mentor roulette, so some people become mentors with the sole intention of getting something shiny and have no interest in helping players. Some people like that the crown highlights them as a knowledgeable player, again not necessarily having interest in helping anyone. Some just like how the crown looks. And of course there are players who genuinely do want to be helpful. Also the requirements to become a mentor aren't difficult to reach so some people with the crown happen to not be very good players.

If you want to find good mentors, and I mean people who are willing to help even if they don't have the crown, join a fc that is welcoming to new or inexperienced players. There are plenty of crownless players who are excellent mentors.

Being a mentor is a prestige thing, or atleast it is for the people who didn't get the memo that mentors are a meme. It's supposed to be a system where veterans of the game can gain mentor status which is "intended" to signal to others that they could help you and answer question about the game...

Problem is, the requirements are so incredibly easy that everyone and their grandmother can get mentor, so you end up with massive amounts of (Burger King) Crowns who couldn't even tie their own shoelaces, let alone give you any useful tips or directions.
In dungeons they may or may not act like the big veteran but in reality most of them probably mess up more often than the sprout in the same group.
