And some people would actually risk having their accounts suspended or even fully banned just because they didn't like who they got matched with. I get it, sometimes you immediately hate the people you get stuck with, but it's really not worth being a raging jerk about it. It is still a game. Games are supposed to be fun, and if you're not having fun then maybe go do something else or make sure you only ever have fun (i.e. make your own group). You can't always win or have the whole world bend to you -- and it's those times when it's important to just grow up and get over it.

People on these forums like to talk about some people who are too sensitive and easily triggered, but tell someone they have to suck it up when they don't like their DF group and see how much they lose their minds over not getting what they want.

Nobody here queue for dungeon because it's fun
They're either here for exp, GC quest/MSQ or tomes (mog/roulette)
Not because they want to spend their time with random people who can't say hello and with half their toolkit

I'm not saying you can't have fun in your daily roulette but you won't gonna queue for any dungeon if you don't get any kind of reward for it.

Lately I've been queuing for duties I find enjoyable but others don't (Dun Scaith, for example) just because I like it. People screw up in stuff like that a lot and it gives me a good challenge, especially as a healer (people sure like to die a lot, you see). I also do my roulettes because, well, it's a roulette. I'm not frantically trying to get the best gear or lots of tomes (and I'm not currently levelling anything), so roulettes are just a fun surprise to see what duty I get. Plus they're to fill spots, so I know I'm getting in a duty to help someone else complete it.

Sorry you have such a negative outlook on why people do things, but please be aware that you don't speak for everyone.

I kinda think this doesn't directly disagree with the post to which you're responding?

I only say that because I'll often do the same, like queuing for trials or normal raids despite having already completed it just cause I have a few minutes and I know getting a competent healer might help someone out. I'm not doing it because I enjoy whatever content I get, I mean how many times can you do e8n before it isn't particularly fun anymore, but more just cause I've got some free time and it'll pop a queue for someone.

Dun Scaith and Orbonne are specially examples of this too, for similar reasons. I like to do them on SCH cause it's the healer I play the least, knowing I'll be okay enough to help but still feel that bit of frantic "omg herding suicidal cats" energy.

I will say in reference specifically to dungeons (which is what Kamome said) the only one I've done specifically for "fun" in recent memory (but mostly just to hear the music) is the Twinning. Even among friends I know who do similar things (generally with older, more challenging instances) I cant think of any dungeons specifically that people bring up. It's mostly raids and trials.

If anyone can clear any fight then how come no one cleared the Orbonne Monastery in week 1? (Hint: the thunder God) The clear answer is that no, not everyone can clear difficult encounters like Ozma, thunder God, and Mist Dragon. That's why jump potions exist - for people to skip hard fights so they can continue enjoying the story.

None of those are hard encounters and furthermore just because you didn’t clear Orbonne in its first week doesn’t mean no one else did. It’s not hard nor has it ever been (including TG).

I do wonder if there's a fundamental difference in attitude with regards to normal mode content that's causing some of the conflict here.

For a lot of players here dungeons are a daily chore they only do to get tomes to progress on the content they actually do enjoy.

For a lot of casual players dungeons and normal mode raids are the game. True, maybe they wouldn't queue if dungeons didn't have a character progression reward tied to them but saying they aren't any fun at all seems unfair.

I'm not defending players that don't try, but I don't think there's anything wrong with not wanting to rush through the content as fast as possible.
