I wish instead of a black loading screen we got an acid trip CS like entering promyvion in XI. Seriously. The animation is lame. Any improvement would be greatly appreciated--especially if it tied into the lore.![]()

It would be more consistent with their lore.I see - initially having to begin the travel sequence at an aetherite, as opposed to hitting a teleport key and bringing up all destinations from anywhere; basically the system in place now, with that one stipulation. That's not a bad idea, giving one the sense of a physical network in place instead of materializing in and out of thin air.
to be or not to be: sqrt( 4 b ^2 )
Personally I think Anima did ruin the game somewhat, but it's not disastrous, I bet there's a better alternative out there or maybe a small tweak would do it. I just gets to be a bit knowing every measly adventurer could zip through space anytime from anywhere, at the cost of some strain on the soul. I know...it's in the "lore" but it's also a bit of a stretch... Anima gives everyone the ability to teleport right? So .. why restrict it to one job? That's silly
There's a fair recharge on anima, so those who teleport everywhere will eventually run out and be forced to walk.
I'm pretty sure we don't want to force people to walk, or allow this stupid idea of WHM unlimited teleports. Anima allows for a system that can balance out teleporting/walking.
It really doesn't ruin the game at all... I use it all the time when I teleport with parties to La Nosca from Ul'dahsaves us time and lets us get on with what we want to do.
-- Also, Anima not feeling very 'Final Fantasy' to you? >:[ I wonder what people said about Final Fantasy VII (how different it is compared to the previous final fantasys)?
Also, as it is right now teleporting is not a spell nor an acquired skill..it's a press of a menu button, that also took away the RPG feel to it somewhat.
In all fairness though, teleport shouldn't be restricted to a specific class. That too would take the fun away from some people, and maybe give rise to paid-tele service. So I understand why there are opposing voices here.
This is why I do respect you.
And I appreciate that you don't resort to name calling and personal attacks.
I am a very mediocre player and still naive when it comes to games, and it probably shows here on the forums.
But I have learned a lot from reading posts by people like you, who are much more skilled than I am -- even if our opinions may differ.
Group hug. ^^
I wish they'd keep anima but that it only worked when at an aetheryte.
I'm pretty sure the 15 minute cooldown on return would deter too much rapid warping in the way you are thinking. Hell they could even bring back the 1 anima cost for Return forcing people who want to be lazy to pay in armour durabillity.
Not saying it's what I'd do but it's a possabillity.
^ This. In an ideal world there would be an exp penalty, no return, and return like items (think PSO, how they had items that'd create a portal back into town that anyone could take for a limited time).I'm pretty sure the 15 minute cooldown on return would deter too much rapid warping in the way you are thinking. But I'd settle with having the aetherytes be the ones that warped us at cost for anima, and return on a timer as it is now. Maybe a higher timer.
Yeah bringing back the 1 mp cost would be sufficient probably in that case. I was taking the idea as intending to force travel to an aetherite before TP, but with return costing nothing, theres no point. People would just return to a crystal and TP anyways.I'm pretty sure the 15 minute cooldown on return would deter too much rapid warping in the way you are thinking. I don't care for the idea, as it reminds me too much of having to seek out a crystal to refill MP. Did not enjoy that very much, no sir.

Actually bringing 1 anima would make no sense; with there being no exp loss people would just blood warp.Yeah bringing back the 1 mp cost would be sufficient probably in that case.
