One could also take the approach of considering such things to not be that deep in the first place and move on with their lives instead of trying to police the thoughts and opinions of other posters when it comes to complex, nuanced topics that are far removed from the thread's purpose and subject.

That people inadvertently let things slip about their feelings on matters even in topics seemingly unrelated is hardly new though.

Edit: I'm also not sure it's really all that complex a subject. And again, using the "calling a spade a spade" in this context really makes it at least questionable. Especially when using it in support of someone making fun of others. It's just a whole lot of possibly innocent but probably not statements and comments.
