Outside of all the people who really have no say about what diversity is or isn't (you know who you are). I'll like some more African features for characters in the game hair styles and facial hair and what not. Its a fantasy game so if I wanna make my character look somewhat like me should be able to do that.
Who would they be, exactly? You know absolutely nothing about the posters behind the character that they choose to play, after all. So on what basis are you passing such a judgement?
Well, I don't know exactly where that OP is coming from. I skimmed this ridiculous thread, but I'd assume anyone with a light skinned character has less weight behind any of their opinions on this subject is the general consensus.

I think it is pretty apparent what they meant. Unless you look a certain way, you don't get to discuss what is or what isn't. It is just as Joven said, "they only want a certain type of diversity."
This topic has accomplished the task it was attempting to complete; it has thrown the bait and many people bit (including myself) and now it is just dangling in the ocean waiting for others.
So you're the authority on diversity because of skin color? Diversity isn't limited to skin color or facial features. This game offers a vast amount of diversity of characters ranging from tall and short, dark skinned and light skinned, male and female, human and non-human, diversity of thought, etc. On top of that works of fiction have absolutely no imperative to represent anyone or anything outside of what the creator wants.Outside of all the people who really have no say about what diversity is or isn't (you know who you are). It's probably on the basis of some spurious theory that you have to belong to a "minority" group to have a valid opinion on things. In the end, if you're a paying customer, that is the only qualification you need to comment on diversity in the game and whether you want to see more or less of it.
When the game's story becomes self-aware:
It is where we get the idiom "money talks" for a reason. It's probably on the basis of some spurious theory that you have to belong to a "minority" group to have a valid opinion on things. But that's another story for another type of forum (not FFXIV). Have a good day and get those tomes!
