One thing that never added up though, Luoisoux was very dark skinned. His nephiews are very light skinned. Something doesn't add up.

I just figured he was weathered. It is possible to have a dark skinned grandsire and light skinned grandchildren though, dependent on who their parents were, lineage and dominant genes.

As a brown southeast asian, to me those main characters facial structure looks asian. Western name? It's a fantasy world so it doesn't matter. They can name their yellow asian character Muthu (indian name) if they wanted to.
In fact, a lot of asian has weird english sounds name. I have a chinese buddy named Jerry (legally, not just nickname). Some other weird asian names = Fish Leong, Candy etc etc.

So yeah, those main characters are asian, not caucasian. Their nose and chin aren't big enough to be considered as a caucasian. The game main character's are all ASIAN (POC). By saying that the game lack POC just shows how inconsiderate and lack of knowledge you are toward other races (Asian), and I am really offended by your post. Asian are POC too, you know

What FFXIV lacks are in fact caucasian main characters. Roegadyn has caucasian facial features, but none of them are the main characters (scions)

The game is pretty diverse though I will say I was a little disappointed with the viera on the 1st being so pale I was hoping they would have had Fran's skin tone.

I know it might be an issue in some medias, but it's a fantasy game. There are many 'races' shown, a hell lot of them, races that exists in FFXIV, not in our world. Because it ain't our world.

Who cares if Alphinaud and Alisaie are pale-skinned if Louisoix is dark-skinned. According to the Encyclopedia Eorzea, Fourchenault Leveilleur (his eldest son and the twins' father) isn't all that dark-skinned either (he's sortof in the middle according to his picture in the book) so who knows, perhaps Louisoix ran out of ink and it got paler and paler in the family...

You could make your own character a PoC or fund the development of a game that has a more diverse main cast.

This might be a troll thread but none of y'all with lily white character models will ever understand the challenge of trying to play hide-and-seek in a main town and being the first one found every time because there are so few dark-skinned characters and NPCs to blend in with.

Try putting on a red stripped sweater and some glasses. Next thing you know, everybody and their damn cousin is out searching for you even if you went down the road to buy a coffee. Ugh! Life turns in hide-and-seek when all you wanted was to wear a stripped sweater!
