I know this is comparing apples to oranges but boy, if you people make a fuzz about this I don't want to see how you'd react to how Blizzard manages their ingame stores. Having a new outfit put in the store is not scummy business, it's literally just business, you lose NOTHING of the game if you don't have it - Having said outfit locked behind RNG on a lootbox you have to pay for, and/or is a limited time item is scummy business.

Does WoW actually have RNG lootboxes to buy? Genuinely asking - I've never touched the game. But yeah, those should be a thing for F2P games, and if WoW actually sells them, that's crap. However, just because a game may handle things worse, doesn't mean that XIV's cash shop is perfect.

It's not perfect, but far from scummy. And as far as I know (stopped playing a few years ago already) WoW doesn't have lootboxes, but their other games all do.
