Can you even imagine the howling if there was one of the Comcast network outage nights again, and someone at FSH 80 got disconnected due to that (so got eventually kicked out of the instance) then logged back on to find they were now FSH 1?
I mean, in fairness, the content was kinda advertised as something relaxing in the patch notes. "See the sights of Eorzea as never before." After reading the patch notes, I was curious to try it out and see what it's all about, take it all in. But, gotta say, just reading a few threads here, it's abundantly clear that it's a very toxic environment. Savage FSH only. Not allowed to just enjoy it.That being said, its better than the person who just stood there on the boat today. Threw out their line twice, then quit and stood there scrolling threw random idle poses while I assume they went and used the bathroom and made a snack, then came back half way through the second window to continue fishing. I wanted to pick her up by the cat girl scruff and throw her overboard. Don't take up a spot if you can't or won't actually do the content.
Damn, y'all take this way too seriously, trying to 100% the content in week 1 as if there's some world first race going on, or like it's some limited content.
The whole design of the bost is garbage and that there are leavers is kust an obvious sign of this fail design.
SE never learns it, that it it the greatest, absolute greatest mistake to link achievements to content that is rng based and linked as well to an extreme reliance on many other people, where the chance of obtaining the wanted achievements is instantly defeated the very moment certain conditions aren't perfectly met.
In order to obtain the needed 16000 points to get the best instance related point achievement, based on you get 50% bonus requires of you to get by your own actions like 11k points, which something only skillful fishers might eventually get, if the bonus from phantom fishing in all 3 segments, was constantly,
if 50% bonus is max, i guess not, but getting better bonus requires much better group performance - that means much more reliance on other players from whose you can't know if they will be afkers, leavers, bad geared noobs that lose fishes from their lines ect, all factors that can ruin your conditions to have a serious chance at getting the 16000 points.
Then you lose due to animations also alot of time, from the like 21 minutes you have are like easily 5 minutes lost in animations in wait time between bitings, what makes reaching the needed points not easier
With all this its no miracle that achievement hunters leave the very moment their chance of it is destroyed

It does not. I've seen many spectrals procced with just a few people on boat. And if you are solo you are almost guaranteed to have one every location. Less people hurt you only if you are full AFK.
That's kind of the problem with the achievement though. There is no way to get the achievement unless everybody is on the same page to up to chances of spectral waters and because its on a 2 hour lock out, if someone comes in there wanting to relax and someone else comes in wanting to get that achievement there's a chance both will be in for a bad time.I mean, in fairness, the content was kinda advertised as something relaxing in the patch notes. Honestly why make the mount attached to an achievement is beyond me, especially in content as random as fishing. Should have just been something to be bought with White Scripts or something but I don't design content.
I had to leave due to raid, and ppl went bananas because i fucked up their achievment.![]()
And while we are at it, make primals and savage mounts buyable with tomestones.
Aren't the primal ones at least buyable with totems post ARR? And isn't the savage mounts a guaranteed drop per week? I don't do Savage so I don't recall how the mount is sent out.
Either way, as far as I can tell both of the above aren't RNG based, nor come from content that was advertised as "relaxing". Basically what I'm getting at is, I don't think Savage or Primal mounts need to be any easier to get, they have mercy mechanics already built in for poor luck on rolls and what not. This shark however....

You can't buy Hades or Ruby mounts with totems yet. So the only way to get them now its to play a multiple layered RNG game: 1) RNG if you get a decent party which can actually farm 2) RNG if a mount drops 3) RNG if you win it. Not much different from a fishing RNG.Aren't the primal ones at least buyable with totems post ARR? And isn't the savage mounts a guaranteed drop per week? As for the difficulty of shark mount, yes it's not faceroll easy, but everyone I know who wanted it already got it so it's not that bad as people exaggerate. And they feel good because it was a decent accomplishment demanding some effort.
