Does anyone know why they are removing Gil from collectibles in 5.2?

A better solution would be giving us more to spend it on....

Like really, outside of housing what is gil used for?
Most peoples gil goes towards teleports these days.

Why add something to spend gil on when they can bring back the 2.1 housing price chart. Housing isn't even a gil sink at this point. Not only have the houses been way too affordable since they standardized the prices across all servers, but they even refund players who let their house to rot for a month and a half.

Because that would only affect those without homes. Besides why wouldn’t you want something cool to spend gil on?

Seriously. We've got a bunch of stuff locked behind insanely hard/extremely time intensive requirements... why not pricey ones too? Gil sink mounts or pets or emotes or even like, a silly title... one of the things WoW did at least kind of right imo. To a degree. <<

Also as someone who isn't a huge fan of crafting, I'd like to be able to afford a large house sometime before the servers shut down :P

Probably gil farmin bots are the main target with this change.
