I dont see players whining about BLU. The majority of the complaints are valid. BLU suppose to be solo content/solo job, its not; its suppose to be OP, its not; cant be used in other solo content like Squadrons, which would be perfect for BLU or even PotD.Complaining is feedback. Whining stemming from "I can't main it so I'm going to reach really hard to come up with imaginary excuses to why the job is bad" along with using subjective reasons as if they're objective facts isn't feedback.
Threads like this one are textbook examples of why we can't have nice things: because the haters will try to ruin it for everyone else any chance they can, just because they weren't catered to. This thread is just like the Male Viera thread started out: full of people who rather ruin it for everyone because they didn't get what they wanted.
Y'all are already spoiled enough by devs and it shows on your attitudes.
Honestly make BLU a standard caster. Have us learn the basic kit via Job Quests like everyone else, then have monsters out in the world drop spells that are functionally identical to spells in our base kit and let us pick which 'spell glamour' we want to use.
Honestly, i think that they would spend less time on the class if they ended up balancing it and put an achievement (that was based on specific ability collection) as a requirement to enter into the DR than if they keep trying to keep it a special snow flake class that they need to start creating new subsystems to support the thing.
I just love how BLU is a solo job that requires you to play with other solo players lol
This, but make it a tank instead, >:3
(c'mon! it's a blue mage!)
My issue with the new BLU update is it's the same content we got before, but as a bigger slice with more rewards but less of the fun of it.
If you're a completionist, getting that Morbol mount is going to be frustration incarnate, as you have to know all the fights to bottom as 8 BLUs, which just asking to find 7 other people to even attempt is going to be difficult to manage.
This is niche for niche content right here, while they have fixed a lot of issues from release, it's band-aid and BLU's endgame is just gonna die again.
knife has a fast cast, so you can move or avoid aoes without losing dps uptime.Well what I really want is a best of both worlds situation, because I don't see the problem with having duty sets which allow you to access endgame on BLU. Also why use sharpened knife when Khlastral exists and has longer range, especially on things that cant be stunnded thats better unless you need the weave. Ultimatelty I believe all of it to be an illusion of choice, theres already a clear best way to set up your 24 spells if you're after raw damage, and tank blu does so little damage theres a clear best for their set up too which is just assisting others, and I'll aggree its a neat concept, but not one thats worth the limited status IMO, I don't find clearing dungeons with BLU set ups to be particularly more fun than doing it on other classes, theres a reason some CC's have been phased out of the game, and its because they are not optimal or fun to use a lot of the time and when the novelty wears off, you'll just run whats most effective, not like theres much real variation anyway.
But tangent asside, what I would want is for blu to be a normal job with learning spells being like bard perform, something thats updated along the side, as you said you're just picking what shape aoe it is, so the system could just be "make sure you pick an astral an umbral and a physical" before it lets you in duties, the current illusion of choice doesn't do anything for me, as I don't find death skills fun, sleep has been not good CC since ARR, and the other CC other classes already have and are not excluded.
You've not taught me anything I didn't already know, I just don't see value in what you are claiming has it, I dont care about the shape of my abilities particularly so theres only 3 choices for the filler, the rest is just common sense for damage and optimising
Hey, remember that time Yoshi-P spent a solid 5 minutes talking about how annoying it would be for everyone else to have a Blue Mage use Level 5 Death and kill a raid boss in one shot, but how un-fun if would be for the Blue Mage if Level 5 Death didn't one shot the raid boss? And that that is why the job had to be limited?
...Nice friggin' meme, Yoshi-P.

Sadly, I can't do any of the new Blue quests even though I'm already 58. I just haven't mastered the Azulmagia fight and the primal abilities have been... uncooperative in the learnings. I realize they aren't "needed" for the fight but they sure couldn't hurt.
I guess BLU just isn't really for me. I mean I like collecting the abilities, but I can't actually get them all solo and I guess I had it in my head that, being a "limited job" that can't do roulettes, that it was intended to be a more solo-centric thing. My mistake apparently.
EDIT: I did not realize at the time I posted this that learning was basically guaranteed if you did the content synced. I have acquired many more of the dungeon/raid spells since then. I have yet to beat azulmagia yet but maybe these new spells will help.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?
