When it is done, there had better be a memorial / statue / shrine / whatever for them.
You know who.
Edit - By "them" I mean that as the plural, for the record.
She deserves it just as much.

No, thank you.
It'll probably happen for the fan service factor alone, but the death of the character in question has been milked enough at this point. Nor is he deserving of special treatment when there's so many other regular Ishgardians who laid down their lives for Ishgard's sake. They're far more important in the grand scheme of things.
I'd prefer to see a generic memorial devoted to the fallen.
I think most just care that housing should be there.
Only housing..
Don't forget that a certain lady also exists who played a major part in WoL learning the truth about the Dragonsong War and ultimately in peace.
I'm taking Lore way too seriously. And I'm not sorry about that.
Given the fact that Francel is in charge of the reconstruction and reveres our mutual friend just as much, there is actually precedent for this to happen.I
The playerbase has been given many chances to champion our good friend, but having an actual monument for the people of Ishgard would be highly appreciated. This was a man with no true last name, but sacrificed all for his nation. I can think of no greater honor, and none who deserve it more. Truly a shining example of the struggles of Ishgard, even if they can only be recognized posthumously.
... dumb question. Just like with Shirogane, people can enter the Firmament (if we assume it becomes a Housing Ward) way before Heavensward MSQ. Wouldn't that statue be a spoiler for those yet oblivious?

I legit thought this was about a memorial for the guy who's always hanging from construction somewhere, until I read the comments.
As for the other guy - I think there's probably enough shrines in player housing already...
I think an actual statue would be a bit too... gaudy...
Much like Lavender Beds has something like "Senna's Pride" as a marker on the map, I do expect some areas to be named in honour of Heavensward characters, though.
I support this idea.
I too would like a statue for Ysayle.
