Him? No thanks, her? Sure.
Him? No thanks, her? Sure.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
It would have to be a pretty big statue in order to see it. Papalymo was a Lala, after all.
I agree, we do need a monument to Thordan and the Knights of the Round in the place where we relocate the peasantry.
I would love a statue of him. I don't think that it needs to be in the housing area, but in the turn-ins area it would be really nice.
I'm sure the Firmament wards will be full of his shrines. All the other housing districts are.
I love that character but no we dont need a statue of him. As others have said, there are quite a few people that lost their lives in this war and just because he is very dear to the WoL should not mean that they get something special. (And I doubt that he would have liked that either)
I am still a bit annoyed on how they killed him of and how they try to milk this all the time because they know that a lot of people love his character...I dont need even more things ingame that will remind me that he died that way and just for the drama.
While true, that same woman, queen of the heretics, was DIRECTLY responsible for enabling the dragons' assault which resulted in the damage we're trying to repair (not to mention the deaths of countless lower-class citizens). It's true that she EXPECTED the dragons to go straight for the nobles and the papacy - the ones responsible for perpetuating the lie of the Dragonsong war - but Nidhogg just didn't care. His followers tore into whoever they could reach, and that meant the Brume and the Firmament took the brunt of their assault.
Even with the truth revealed, putting up a statue of her in the restored district she helped to destroy would be in pretty bad taste. No one in Ishgard will be celebrating Y'sayle anytime soon. If fate is kind, future history books will treat her fairly, but that's about the best we can expect.
Thordan? :^)
That said, I agree with this. No, thank you.
It'll probably happen for the fan service factor alone, but the death of the character in question has been milked enough at this point. Nor is he deserving of special treatment when there's so many other regular Ishgardians who laid down their lives for Ishgard's sake. They're far more important in the grand scheme of things.
I'd prefer to see a generic memorial devoted to the fallen.
