The congestion is based on traffic. The world travel makes the traffic worse, because 1 person can block fe. 5 other people from participating. When we block the world travel, the congestion gets less severe, because 1 person takes onle 1 slot so more people can enjoy the content.

So you're saying some rando that's greedy and wants to take part in everyone's FATEs (like the ones I saw visit Diabolos, which were like "hey guys when's the next one") are somehow more entitled to a world's FATE than someone who actually plays on that world, just because said person was at work for most of the day? So when that person gets home, you're saying they don't get to complain when a bunch of jobless people are clogging up their world because they weren't playing enough? Hello?

Personally I think commitments outside the game are just that outside of the game, and those who are actively playing the game should be the primary focus and concern.As someone who works and also has class I did not get to take part in the fates, but that is on me and I did not expect / nor desire SE to hamper server progression for smaller servers because people with outside commitments were unable to take part.

End of the day world visit was not the problem as someone else mentioned the system as a whole was flawed from the start.

World visit added on to the problems. The problems was tht the instances are too small, limit world visit cut down maybe 800 ppl trying to get into the fate on a world to 500. didn't solve the problem but sure did help

I think 500 locals trying to get in was only on the biggest servers. The smaller servers seemed to have 300 or below players.

Apart from the fact that NA has more players than both JP and EU combined. Its not hard to look up the numbers...Or...you know, see that NA has vastly more datacenters than JP or EU.

It's funny when people try to argue semantics on something that clearly harmed most of the players (except ironically the ones exploiting the system in the first place). The majority did want a fix for this situation.

Unless you're implying the whole NA playerbase enjoyed being left out of this event...

The system was flawed and a bit poorly thought out, for sure. I will say though that while world visit wasn't the root of the problem, it was definitely *part* of the problem, or at the very least made the existing problem worse. Locking it was an incomplete solution but an improvement nonetheless.

...it also meant I actually had a chance to participate in stage three. Which was neat.

I'm not the one assuming that world visitors haven't contributed.
At no point have I suggested that visitors are more entitled, I am actually quashing the voices of the people who feel they are entitled because they are inhabitants which is what a lot of people have issue with. I am saying that everyone's time is equal to one another's and that the problem was not the visitors but the poorly thought out execution.

This content reminds me of a game I used to play where the world boss would spawn at 11am every day. It dropped the best weapons and because I was working, I never got a chance to participate in the fight. I hated the game for this and I feel the same way about Ishgard Restoration. I'm just trying to detract animosity away from each other and getting people to focus on the fact that global progression content is horrible for this game.

You also can't assume they weren't helping either so you can't really have anything to say. If you read the forums more, you might of noticed the hundreds of voice's being known about this issue. I read the forums and I see screenshots of people being toxic about hoarding the fates on other servers, pretty upsetting to see that from this community. I'm glad they fixed it, now you can stay on your server and help your server do the project and let each server handle it's own and let them have their own fates. Cheers

I can safely assume that as the OP had been at work, they hadn't contributed for, on average, at least 8 hours and maybe even more considering they probably slept before work. Who's to say that visitors hadn't contributed in that 8-14 hours prior to the OP coming home from work? This entire thread and concept is about assumptions. It was assumed that a bulk of visitors are coming to be scrip/exp vultures, it was assumed they didn't help.

I daresay in nearly 300 posts, I've seen a considerable amount of the forums. I think I also said on this thread that hundreds is not a majority, but it is, of course, still a lot.

Also, to clarify, because I don't know if I have, I've personally never even used the world visit function, either before or after Ishgard Restoration so there is no salt from me about the change and in actual fact, my world is behind all others in progress :P

Jowy, I can guarantee you that the world visit issue, while it may not be the main problem for you personally, was a massive problem here on Mateus. For all but the last round of concerted works, people on this server couldn't even get into the Firmament for hours at a time because trolls from Balmung would roll in to spam "THIS IS NOW BALMUNG FIRMAMENT". The idea of having world-visit work for the Firmament was to encourage friends and fellowships to perhaps help each other out so that servers could all progress, but this was thoroughly ruined by trolls who would either leech rewards from the server or would lock players out of their own server's instance.

We may disagree that world visit in Firmament wasn't the main issue, but it was a big enough issue that SE and Yoshida himself had to address it. Them's the facts.

Really hoping they do something to change how Concerted Works pop. I missed every single one on my server because they popped while I was working or sleeping. Donating 1000 items and not getting to participate in the group stuff sucks.
