Anyone who actually enjoyed queueing 8man to farm over and over again with literally no challenge is very strange to me. Because I know I didn't, the banter in chat/discord and achievements were the only reason I cared to do it. On the other hand LP is one of the most fun activities in the game to me. Then again it's also the same people who rarely come anywhere near a ranked mode and disappear after 100 games because steamrolling in FL premades inflates their ego so much they can't cope when the time comes where they're against people that'll actually fight back.
But hey, by the way you percieved Syrehn's post I guess I don't find PvP fun and should stop queueing it because it isn't fun to win literally uncontested in a game mode that isn't even considered competitive!

Sounds to me like PvP isn't the content for you.
It sounds like maybe you've had a bad experience or two and have based your opinion around that. The only times that there were no challenge would be 24 man secure matches. There is always some challenge in Seal Rock or Shatter (small ice version) thanks to RNG. That isn't a thing anymore. 8 people cannot carry in a 72 person match. There are also very few people that I know of that can stand more than 5 matches of that at a time.
Does this game have a competitive mode that I don't know about? PvP has been such a bad joke for the last 3 years that I assumed all modes were casual now.

Last 3 years? PvP has always been a meme. The people that are delusional that 3.x PvP was like this holy grail usually weren't very good at that either. Fortunately, enjoyment seems to be subjective, something that is apparently a foreign concept to you. And yes, if it has a ranked ladder with seasonal rewards and is the only activity in this game that gets any kind of LAN coverage by Square, it's competitive. Whether you agree with that or not isn't relevant.Sounds to me like PvP isn't the content for you.

Enjoyment is subjective. You and that other person literally said that you don't enjoy something, and I said that maybe you should try other content. I'm not sure where you're pulling this from.
Also, 3.x pvp was the best pvp this game has had. There were plenty of good players back then, and not-so-shockingly, many quit after the awful revamp.

You didn't just say try other content, you said "PvP isn't for you" based on a certain mutual aspect between me and whoever else that we don't enjoy. It's like saying I hated my holiday to London last year so maybe Europe isn't for me, just because I didn't enjoy one city out of the entire continent. What?

I liked 3.x PvP, but it was unhealthy for the longevitity of PvP balance in this game and any half decent player knows that. It doesn't mean pruning it into oblivion was the answer, but without the rework it was on a pretty steep decline.

It would be more like saying that if you didn't like your holiday in London last year, maybe you can try another European country/city. You probably also forgot how 3.5 to 4.0 queues were very good, pretty much the same that they are now. All it needed was GARO and other rewards to stay active.
There is next to zero challenge steamrolling the other teams with a 8players premade, and it's at least part of the reason people do it. But actual PvP in PvP is part of the objective. The objective is to score points. The fastest way to score points if you have the superior team is to steamroll the other teams.
