I feel playing with friends shouldn't invalidate the knowledge and experience a player has of the game and as such, shouldn't lock players out of content such as the mentor roulette which in turn, helps sprouts.

There are multiple categories in the achievement menu, I personally can't see why the relevant mentor acknowledgement can't be locked behind amassing a number of points within that category. Again, with the goal in mind that a player is indeed capable of mentoring instead of being a master in spamming a guildhest (which some people within this thread have advocated), or buying levekits (in order to get the DoH/L versions).
