I'm on a JP data centre, and I'm out of most MSQ cutscenes before the (presumably) Japanese members of the party.
The first colossus battle in the Praetorium is the only fight I can remember getting locked out of in 'normal circumstances' (nobody skipping) because the rest of the party had finished and went ahead without me.
As far as I have read, people have been pretty nice in their responses. Just telling you what's up, and it's your choice if you wish to risk it.I'm upset yes. When theres things in the game that people do such as "selling clears" "Selling plots" "Breaking fakes" "Using third party programs for dps on streaming sites that GM's can clearly see" and many more, that are left unchecked, it makes me wonder what I can and can't do because clearly some things are in a grey area where others and black and white. I know the deal with housing but it still happens every single day and theres nothing done about it. People get things because they're rich IRL and it's ultra un fair and it's a huge part of the game. I'd love to own a large plot and have fun with it but I can't because you have people selling them for 500 times the price.
All I wanted was to find out if I can or can't do this with MSQ and in the topic I brought up points that argue the reasoning given but i'm just shot down. Why is it such a bad thing when people can pick to not waste 55 minutes and enjoy the MSQ. If they really want to, they can skip it too. It's no diffident from someone buying a skip potion on the mog station where others can't because they can't afford one.
Edit: I usually read the forums or watch a little Netflix in between fights - I am actually responding to this thread while running Prae. LOL

Same here. If I partied with JP users, I will always be the last during colossus fight. But after migitek destroyed the door though, I loaded out faster than them.I'm on a JP data centre, and I'm out of most MSQ cutscenes before the (presumably) Japanese members of the party.

To answer the OP here is what happened to my friend.
He did this a lot he skipped MSQ cutscenes. I warned him that it could be considered an exploit but he thought Nah itll be fine.
Well, this past monday he got handed a 30-day ban hammer. Why? Well they said he did an exploit he asked about the specific exploit and it was skipping the cutscenes.
I also had someone demand everyone do it and i said no and was kicked from the duty.
So you can get in trouble if someone reports you. That is your own risk.
It sucks you got punished for the groups actions violating ToS.
Regarding OP , yes it is.
Now are people going to keep doing it? Yes
Did the unskippable cs stop people from kicking people? No, since Selenara just mentioned she got booted out by the rest of the group who were performing this exploit.
Did it stop people from ruining the game play for new players going in their first time? No, they have found a way around the cutscenes unskippability.
My experience came across doing Paertorium. They were a small group, skipped cutscenes, beat boss and left a new person with the boss battle being replaced with the exit sign. Obstructing their game play as well as leaving the other players with a negative experience.
I have respect for the dev team and the GMs that do their best to look out for the rest us, though I don't believe that rules and regulations should go unquestioned and blindly followed. The unskippable cutscenes however aren't working for how they were intended. We need a revision for this.
...unfortunately again.
This isn't proof of a problem with the unskippable cutscenes.Did the unskippable cs stop people from kicking people? No, since Selenara just mentioned she got booted out by the rest of the group who were performing this exploit... The unskippable cutscenes however aren't working for how they were intended. The problem lies with the people who exploited the ability to skip them, and kicked someone for not skipping them and "holding up the group".
If everyone couldn't skip them (as has deliberately been programmed, unblockable exploits aside) then there is no reason to kick anyone, because nobody is being held up by others watching cutscenes.
Then simply report them? If the story is true then:
- There is a chat log with the demand the victim to skip.
- There is a system log to show the cutsceen were skip.
- There is legit report for griefing (kicking from party).
It would be pretty much a slam dunk cases that will sic the GM on the offenders' pretty quickly. Unlike other type of reports (RMT, botting), harassment reports are deal with very quickly and seriously in this game (to a point some might think the GM is hyper-sensitive). And if it's also coupled with other other offense I cant imagine the offender would have a happy ending.

Issue seems pretty simple - you don't like the cutscenes, don't flippin' cue up for the roulette.
"But mah tomes and exp!"
There's plenty of other roulettes to run, and plenty of other ways to gain exp. The MSQ roulette isn't the only ride in town.
OP you are obviously desperate for someone to say it's ok to skip these cut scenes but it is not. If you get caught, you could get banned. Is that really worth skipping a few minutes of cut scene?
