You can be a novice, and level 70, when you should already understand the basics of the game. EX trials also are things that can happen in the mentor roulette, and they are also a requirement.

So while mentors are being advertised as a person who helps new players get off the ground, you can very much so click on a mentor roulette, and end up in a synced Hells' Kier EX trial with level 70 sprouts.

SE either needs to remove the EX requirement, and lower the level of sprouts - or increase the requirement and expectations of mentors.

Edit:

looking at the NN list, I see sprouts who have multiple level 80 classes. So it seems level doesn't even play a factor.
It's completing "A Requiem for Heroes" quest essentially complete Stormblood all patches AND have a sufficient enough playtime (168 hours) you can have multiple level 80 jobs and not fulfill the requirement for either of these two conditions.
