I quite liked my time in WoW, would be cool to have a cross over. Love some of their other games (loved warcraft 3 to death), though I feel their Activision lords or just general company direction has gone a bit "EA-ish" in recent years. Would be special to have one of the iconic weapons and gear like Doomhammer/Frostmourne and Lich King Armor.
Respecting their origin art but making sure they look fitting in the game world could be interesting though lol. To reduce the whole reminder of the other game aspect though if Blizzard and SE do a cross over maybe they should do non-mmorpg games as the cross over piece (Diablo, FF7, etc). Though I imagine having a relic or chocobo in WoW would do more to remind people of SE games than having a Frostmourne in FFXIV (not saying it wont or has to be that way, just that I imagine because WoW is bigger that more would see SE's stuff).

This isn't Yokai Watch but we had a collab for that.
This isn't Garo but we had a collab for that.
This isn't Monster Hunter but we had a collab for that.
I have one question for you, however...have you played WoW? Like, actually played it? Most people I've seen in this game hating on WoW never actually tried it. They just hate it because they can. It was, at least at one time, a pretty great game. Lately? Not so much. There's a reason I cancelled my sub. I honestly wouldn't even consider WoW to be a competitor anymore. But that doesn't change the fact that it was a great game played by millions upon millions of people. A crossover would be neat, imo.
Only if we're packing up all the paissa to send over and we get to smuggle that sweet dreadwake mount back.
Having played WoW from late Classic to early Legion.....meh. About the only thing I really miss from the game are a few of my old favorite mounts (mainly the raptors, but I also miss my Bloodbathed Frostbrood Vanquisher). There's just nothing else I'd want from the setting anymore. And I wouldn't trust Blizzard's writers not to foul up their side of a collab somehow.
I know YoshiP would welcome it. I don't see why not
Yes i had tried Wow, friends wanted me to give it a go. Just was not for me. Have i played it long? No not at all because i am hardly a PC gamer, always mostly been console.
You guys take stuff way too seriously about ones opinion (which OP asked for) and i very much called it about quotes, that's all people do on this forum quote and try to argue, lol
But if it makes you feel better quoting and wanting the last word in, good on you. I gave my opinion and do not need to justify it.
And i had the same opinion when Yokai Watch came 2X which i had posted at the time but none quoted me that time..
None of those directly compete with FFXIV though. Idc for WoW; never played, doesn't interest me either. But using those three IPs as examples of collabs is a bit moot. Most of those collabs might've been along the lines of "promoting their product in their other IP for mutual gain." Since by my understanding, neither of those IPs step on FFXIV's demographic.
FFXIV and WoW are in the same market and a collab would basically pit players to make choices between both MMOs, even when players who play both are not scarce.
It's like asking two big fast food franchises that serve the same consumer base to make a collab.
If you say so.
If there's a crossover event with WoW, a small event would just be disappointing.
Instead, I'd love it if they have an LFR-style raid (with multiple wings or maybe just one wing with 9 bosses) in FFXIV just to see how FFXIV players would feel about that type of raiding.
You do know Microsoft owns Mojang and by extension Minecraft yet allows it to be sold for the PS4 and Switch right? A company will absolutely double down on it if it makes money.
Games like Project x Zone 1&2 also feature collabs with Capcom/Namco/Sega and even Nintendo. They do it as a joint venture so that everyone gets a profit, but also to help deal with each other's licenses.
Hell even outside games, movies like Who Framed Roger Rabbit featured both Bugs Bunny and Mickey Mouse on the same screen, and only agreed to it if they both shared the same amount of screen time.
The possibility is never not out there, it's just both companies need to come to an agreement. Which in most cases is all about the $$$.
If Yoshi-P and Blizzard are being buddy buddy I'd expect something like it, especially considering the MHW collab only happened because Yoshi went out drinking with the MH prodcuer.
