I'd like the diablo crossover, but I was never a fan of wow (I'm an everquest kid so I have an innate +1000 hatred for wow)
Yes, but here it seems like pointing out "WoW bad, FFXIV good!" is some heroic act. It has gone as far as people blaming FFXIVs bot problem on Blizzard, or other ridiculous things. But it's only WoW. Never any other MMO.
It isn't like the console war where fans of sony are constantly saying they like sony, and Nintendo/Xbox is trash, or whatever. It's people constantly demonizing Blizzard, and WoW, and making them a bogeyman.
Probably because Wow is the only serious competitor of FFXIV.
The recent console wars do not really involve Nintendo, because they don't target the same audience. And if you look at really old console wars, it was Sega Vs Nintendo, even though other consoles existed at that time.
Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.
I mean, I was generalizing the console wars.Probably because Wow is the only serious competitor of FFXIV.

When I started seeing that stuff it was like.. what.. PS2/Xbox/Gamecube?
I do believe Sega started it, but I mean, I never really saw that stuff because the Internet wasn't a widespread thing for kids - at least not in my house.
The gift is a nice gesture, and I would expect them to have cordial relationships with one another. That being said, I'd rather Warcraft stay out of Eorzea. It's a cynical story that doesn't really have a place here. Just my opinion.
Are we playing the same game? FFXIV has alcoholics, racism, regular and sexual slavery, tempered people are simply killed off, because there's no better alternative, etc etc.
Sometimes rumors are just... rumors.
I don't like WoW (I actually kind of hate it if you want to ues that term) and thus I play this game. And love it. I just don't want to have influences of WoW here.
Think it of this: You are going to plan a BBQ with your Football enthusiast neighbours and after that you want to watch Football with your mates. Unfortunately, one of your neighbours, Bob, dislikes Football and will only talk about Baseball. You are not hating on Bob, but he would not fit into the Football fans as Baseball fan, so you do not invite him in the first place.
Apart from that, I have not seen any big game (apart from FFXIV) that is creating a mess of their own franchise. I know in GW2 you had GW1 cross-overs which is fine, but all this random nonsense that made it into the game (mostly this ridiculous Yokai Watch) and take a away lots of immersion is really getting too much. Yes, I do enjoy that - immersion. As if: Playing a FF game, not some demo version of WoW influenced bullocks as if this is some free game CD from a 1990s cerealbox.
Frog suits are a thing, but no need to get more random kitsch and gaudy stuff in here.
But they could do a cross-over event in WoW instead of cr..pping their intelectual properties into better ones (such as FFXIV) which is a nice and cheap spin for advertisement and PR for WoW.
Sincerely,
