People just need to remember that outside of coop activities, you should play the game however you like and not give a single damn about what people think. Maybe if they start paying your monthly bill, they could have say.

Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

What I'm saying is that Roe that make fun of other races for all looking the same are hypocrites.
The fact that a lot of your options aren't "viable" i.e they're kinda ugly, doesn't make your race special. Every race has dud options that no one ever picks.

This cannot be stressed enough because no I am not paying your sub, but you are not paying mine either, so purposefully wasting my time is more of a jerk move than 3-7 other ppl kicking you out of their party for whatever you think you are entitled to, or more often, not to do.

Why would you bring that up again? It has no relevance to rant about it here when the emphasis already was on "[outside of] coop activities".

I war a Hyur Midlander and started playing a lala as a joke with an old fc and it just stuck with me. Even with all the repeated jokes, and negative viewpoints people pick on for some reason.
There are gonna be people like that for all of the races. We got jokes on neckbearded men playing catgirls, people who clearly have active baddragon accounts playing Hrothgar, masochists playing Female Elezen with that Shaggy run cycle.
Everyone is gonna be making those comments (sometimes playfully, other times not) especially considering the game is one big social experience. But never and I repeat NEVER let that you change from doing something you enjoy in it.
I've also switched back to a Catboi at times but Lalas are just so much fun to play as I always come back since it's the best. Not gonna let whatever people say dissuade me from that choice.

How can you actually "hate" a fictional race in a virtual fantasy world?

Absolutely. I know it's a much more personal game then others since we're interacting so much and progressing our characters but people do need to take a step back and realize that it's just a game. There's no crazy hidden agenda Yoshi-P is doing over Male Viera, people shouldn't be having identity crisis over the ranged job they play because of the Meta, and people enforcing too much of the real world in game because they wear their hearts on their sleeves.Exactly. People not differentiating between themselves and their characters have opened a lot of cans of worms lately. We had the male Viera incident where a very vocal minority called it an attack on their sexuality and homophobic bla bla. We had those considering FFlogs to be an invasion of their privacy because they consider the combat log to be personal. Or as we saw in this thread some trying to enforce real life ideologies in the game and requiring to ask for consent before using an emote. And as you mentioned, some would consider any form of insult a personal attack on them. And all are failing to realize that the one who truly owns their characters is SE. And they could very much do with the character and all the data it generates as they wish.
I mean should we really be injecting real world thoughts into this game when ancient cave murals picture a higher being doing the FFXIV equivalent of an Inazuma kick on another?
The fact that these races have several viable options and are all copies of each other denotes a lack of personality. That is all.
I don't laugh at anyone because when I play I'm on my own. I don't care what people do.

Not sure what that has to do with this thread? This cannot be stressed enough because no I am not paying your sub, but you are not paying mine either, so purposefully wasting my time is more of a jerk move than 3-7 other ppl kicking you out of their party for whatever you think you are entitled to, or more often, not to do.

Tell the critics to take a flying leap! Lalafell are awesome and appeal to many individuals. The little folk are my favorite race! There use to be a guy here (on this forum) on a crusade, trying to get SE to delete lalafells and telling everyone who played the race that they were perverts. Some creepy people agreed with him, and even my ex-boyfriend made comments about it.
Meanwhile, I'm a 25 year old woman without any mental illnesses that just enjoys dressing up a chibi avatar (a potato with a head) in cute looking outfits. Back in the day I changed to miqo'te because of these men's disturbing claims; I didn't want to deal with being bullied by them anymore, and as someone who use to be a heavy forum-goer I experienced it almost on the daily. But just recently I returned to the game and missed the cuteness of a potato avatar and changed back to lalafell.
The issue is, ever since then I have had anxiety because of my experience of being bullied when playing the race. It's basically ruined the race for me... I've considered changing back, but I wanted to see if others have had similar experiences or if these creeps have cleared out from the forum.
The people who "get" lalafell become part of a large family. You may think I'm kidding but it's true. You see a lalafell and you recognize a kindred soul.
Don't let anyone browbeat you to play what you don't want to play. Proudly post a screenshot in the Show your Lalafell thread.
You'll be welcomed into the lalafell community!
