Awful mentality that a lot of players seem to encourage on the forums. Instead of letting a dps die and make the run even slower, why don't you try to be an adult for a sec and adapt?
Single pulls are horrible and no one should encourage them. The only time I would be ok with it is because the player has some kind of disability. And even then; you want to enjoy your first run at your own pace, take it slow? Use trusts.
People mostly run these dungeons to get tomes, or practice their jobs. I really fail to see how unthreatening 3 mob pulls is ever going to make you a better player, and if you do a roulette ex everyday (to get tomes) and ask to take it slow everyday....? Join a hunt train, where no one would care about your performance. And to clarify, no one is asking you to amaze your teamates with insane skills in every content you run, but doing the opposite of this by "taking it slow" or not trying is noticeable, and not for the best.
It's also comical that more casual oriented players reeeeeally want to improve their gear, but they literally do nothing with higher lvl gear? Isn't the logic, to get better gear, to be stronger, make things die faster? I've played casually at times and fell behind on gear because, if I do no content where higher lvl gear makes a difference, what's the point?
I think a balance is better. You don't need to pull wall to wall of course, but never pulling more than one mob group at a time is very slow except for maybe brand new healers. I'm still quite new myself and playing as a WHM. A wall to wall pull is stressful for me still, but the tank never pulling more than one group at a time feels much too slow to me already. It doesn't have to be something you put pressure on yourself to do instantly, but I would work toward it rather than just staying slow intentionally. I think you'd wind up having more fun yourself actually.![]()
When a tank pulls small I roll my eyes. I only occasionally will dungeon tank when I'm in the mood as a raid tank main. So when a tank yaps at a healer to say "well why don't you tank" I'll say "k, back out put up a PF and I'll tank". Done it 4 times now.
The only time I will ever take it 'slow' is if my healer is undergeared or my healer can't keep up. Make the healers sweat is what I say, helps them get better and deal with stress if they plan on end game healing anyways.
if I join a dungeon as a healer and the tank only pulls one group at a time I will most likely leave the dungeon every time
I prefer speedy dungeon clears, so I pull big as it seems like working solution.
But I cannot understand indivisuals who try to force wall-to-wall pulls happen.
Even when the dps is low, or healer is inexperienced and cannot keep the tank up (let alone contribute to dps), and/or tank is insecure and cannot use his cds properly.
Pulling "too much" and wiping takes more time than taking it "just" 2, or god knows just 1, pack/s at the time.
It isn't so horrible that we are not all the same.
That happened to me once, during my first attempt at clearing the Arboretum. I landed with a premade who wanted to do it all at once, with the healer being particularly annoying/nasty. We got to the first destructible barrier (or rather they got there without me) where the healer promptly mentioned "we don't have to fight those!" referring to the mobs he'd ignored. Annoyed, I told him to shut it and promptly ate a kick. I still have yet to clear that dungeon.I prefer speedy dungeon clears, so I pull big as it seems like working solution.

Yes anybody has a problem with slow tanks, thank you for asking.Does anybody actually have a problem with tanks that take it slow or is it just all in my head? Speaking as a slow-running tank, I just prefer to take it one battle at a time as opposed to rushing it all. It's different but I'd like to think I'm not actually doing anything wrong.
You wouldn't even be doing anything differently between pulling one pack of 3 mobs and 3+ packs for 10+ mobs, since 3 is most generally the threshold where AOE rotation surpasses ST rotation. You could be doing that to every mob, or just one third of the mobs the game allows you to pull in an average corridoor, taking three times the time.
Are you also making sure that every dps class loses their stacks and buffs from the previous trash pack before pulling the boss so they can start from 0?
I don't mind slow pulling if there is a proper reason for it. But if the group has no skill or gear issues, it can be pretty boring and needlesly slow. Which leads to frustration, which fosters anger, which leads to the dark side.
Why play with a tank that is not any better than trust tank?
I tank single pulling deserve a kick.
