Tanks that want to take it slow?

Like, tanks that don't really chain pull or speedrun in dungeons. Does anybody actually have a problem with tanks that take it slow or is it just all in my head? Speaking as a slow-running tank, I just prefer to take it one battle at a time as opposed to rushing it all. It's different but I'd like to think I'm not actually doing anything wrong.

You're not doing anything wrong, per se, but as a healer main that has had everything stripped from them this expac (thanks SE, I hate pressing buttons in my video games. /s) I find I only have entertainment when I have a tank that pulls wall to wall and forces me to actually balance heals/dps. Of course, after being fed up with healers this expac, and SE's deafening silence over it, swapped over to MCH main, so as a DPS, doesn't bother me THAT much, but on dungeons I've done dozens of times, I'd rather it be over with quickly so I can get a move on and do other things.

However, if you're newer to tanking, or just not confidant, it's completely fine to take things slow until you can work your way up, improve, and do those big pulls.

I just ask if the healer wants big pulls or not.

Nothing wrong w/ it. I just don't like being forced into large pulls if I'm not feeling up to it. Normally I can keep up, but especially higher levels, it can be a rough few rounds.

That being said, as a tank, I typically start slower to evaluate, then speed up a little if I feel the healer can handle. Then if requested or I notice issues, I slow back down.

tbh only real gauge is pull big on the first set of trash, if you wipe go less next time, the first pull if you go small, you have all your CDs up, by the time you get through the first pack you could be short CDs that would have made a big pull more easily manageable. Need to not be afraid of a wipe, they happen, it adds what an extra minute or two on the clear time, so what sometimes the best way to learn is through wiping, otherwise you won't learn ways to improve.

I just get sad I don't get to use all the shiny mage gear I've collected.

The dps will probably run straight through you and pull them all to you anyway.

Well then they can tank it themselves. As tank, I wont take it, as healer, I wont heal them.

I don't mind- as a healer, when tanks pull small. The dungeon is going to take over 10 minutes no matter how you do it. As a tank, I'll pull 2 groups at most because quite frankly I can't DDR my way to stay alive.

Awful mentality that a lot of players seem to encourage on the forums. Instead of letting a dps die and make the run even slower, why don't you try to be an adult for a sec and adapt?
Single pulls are horrible and no one should encourage them. The only time I would be ok with it is because the player has some kind of disability. And even then; you want to enjoy your first run at your own pace, take it slow? Use trusts.
People mostly run these dungeons to get tomes, or practice their jobs. I really fail to see how unthreatening 3 mob pulls is ever going to make you a better player, and if you do a roulette ex everyday (to get tomes) and ask to take it slow everyday....? Join a hunt train, where no one would care about your performance. And to clarify, no one is asking you to amaze your teamates with insane skills in every content you run, but doing the opposite of this by "taking it slow" or not trying is noticeable, and not for the best.
It's also comical that more casual oriented players reeeeeally want to improve their gear, but they literally do nothing with higher lvl gear? Isn't the logic, to get better gear, to be stronger, make things die faster? I've played casually at times and fell behind on gear because, if I do no content where higher lvl gear makes a difference, what's the point?
