Lopsided reports?

Well since it was pointed out by Dusty...This was a case of "Two wrongs don't make a right".
You first pulled him accidentally, he retaliated and said stop, and you continued to poke the bear and that's what happened.
GM's saw the text of him telling you to stop and you didn't so the concluded that from there.

I hope you told the guy at first it was an accident so he knew that. That could have saved your skin, and you not
retaliating would too ultimately. You all should have kicked him and stuff right after the 1st R word tbh.
I'm not saying what he did was right, and I also hope you all reported him too but yeah...
Do try and be careful, 3 strikes already and you're probably cutting it close with a permaban here.

Its kinda hard to answer with the phone and an app browser. But re-read, as I said he never said stop.
Plus it's starting to get into a discussion which was the first thing I said to avoid. This is not up for discussion you can either agree or not, it doesn't change that my account is banned. So discussing it is kinda dumb. Everyone else in that party agree'd already that was the dumbest reason to ban someone and that's what matters the most to me at least. As I also said, I know what "YOU" guys, forum people, was gonna say furthermore blocking on the start any discussion about it. It is hard for people to read I see. Harder than me keeping the calm after a whole day in the woods and reading stuff from my phone pointing out not one, not two but three post in like 5 new ones, stuff that I specified said that did not happen. Like Him telling me to stop or me killing him with Rescue, (No please enlight me on how someone can die on MSQ where AoE's deals 200 dmg). Anyway, As I predicted since the first post, white knight guys are white knight, how did I knew? Well i was on this side where it is really "hard to believe" that certain stuff happened for real, till you find yourself into that situation. Well it matters not, though. Anything we gonna say or do it won't matters a bit. So I'd suggest you to drop it, because no offense, I didn't want to discuss it anyway but if you really think that rescuing someone far from the group after he called me Retarded, watch out not asked me to stop, just flame. But still being in a faulty position which could justify the rescue use anyway. Then there's no real need to discuss with people that are obviously there to enforce their faulty view of the things upon words and facts I never wrote. I doubt i'd check the forum again in the next 6 days i'm out.

Not worth, nobody here is actually reading, everyone is just fishing for "Likes" by writing stuff like "rightful white knights" with people that would circle jerk their "illuminated vision of behaviour in-game". Those last messages just proved it.

If you guys are smart just take what I wrote on the first post I did here as what it was. A tip to not bother, as you other person not involved here, can see, people are simply unable to perceive the facts and will always go with their version of the facts. So if they'd feel their version offends them, there you go reported for free. Good grief really.

Also, pointing out examples and scenarios of why someone might be punished for using Rescue = white-knighting. Cool.

The only facts I see is that you used Rescue on a person twice, they interpreted it as grieving, and reported you for it. The GMs agreed with the report that using Rescue in this instance was retaliatory, and they issued you a temporary ban because of it. Your account having previous strikes may or may not have been a factor. We also only have your version of the story here, so we actually don’t have all the facts by virtue of this story being one-sided. I’m not accusing you of leaving stuff out; I’m merely pointing out the irony of you telling us to “stick to the facts” when we don’t even have them all.

In the end, the only one getting up in arms over this is you, my dude. No one else.

Ah, and inb4 I’m accused of white-knighting or fishing for likes: I’ve been against these new ToS rules that you were likely punished under since they were introduced. And I couldn’t care less for virtual internet points. If I cared, I’d actually use my FFXIV subreddit account more.

Even tho it's fun to just stand back and watch the same people fishing for likes time and again, this thread got me thinking, what else might be ban-worthy.

Using HoT while pulling when tank asked you to stop doing it.
Denying to heal someone in group content.
Using shrink to non tanks.
While fleeing/being chased in PvP use rescue on someone to use as meatshield.

The current report/ban policy along with the "top-notch" GM/customer support teams gives endless possibilities.

Hell I'd love to see a "Post the funniest reason you managed to get someone warned/baned" topic actually.

Some people tend to report the slightest thing though. I was reported (allegedly) yesterday for playfully telling another player whom I'd been talking playfully with to "eat sh*t" as a way to say goodbye. It was in obvious jest, but that apparently was enough. :|
No warning so far though, luckily. It was obviously in jest, though I did apologize just to make sure that the player understood that it was simply a fun way to say "goodbye." - Gotta be careful out there.

as far as i can tell the GMs of this game are kind of some terrible snowflake protection squad.
Ever since they did that revised ToS announcement it seems everything is full of people announcing that they're reporting everyone for everything

Ever since we had a guy get a day suspension for saying "help the group or leave the instance" to someone that was literally just pacing back and forth at the entry for like 15 minutes straight half the people i play with seem to just keep any public chatlogs turns off completely.

I was tanking, pulling less mobs because, despite me using all my cool downs, the healer wasn't keeping up well. Healer starts running off ahead and pulling more, calling our party "Pieces of sh*t", so I just left.

My friends said I should of just shirked them and let them die, but I'm glad I didn't, based on some responses in this thread, I could have ended up with the banhammer instead XD

No, you should have completed the dungeon and just reported. His behaviour was enough to get punished for it.

There is really no need to overthink about how GM work. Don't break the ToS you're fine, if you do prepare for punishment, it's that simple.

I reported him, but I left because I didn't want to get goaded into something I might regret later. I want to keep my account squeaky clean with no warnings.
Also, I just really didn't feel like helping someone like that through the dungeon. The penalty wasn't even an issue, because I just did a few chores I was putting off during that time :P
