NIN in 5.1

Is anyone else scared of what may happen to NIN in 5.1?

I may be in the minority here, but I actually like the current iteration of NIN. It may be a hot mess of buttons in the opener, but once you are into its normal rotation it is very enjoyable to me. Since the potency increases in 5.05, NIN seems to be in a pretty decent place right now.

I would like to hear some other opinions on both the current iteration of NIN, and what changes (if any) you would like to see.

The one thing they mentioned to be considering was that GCDs would no longer bunny Ninjutsus. Altho they also mentioned that would mean a recalculation of the NIN over all DPS, that has been an all timer cause of grief for the job's feel. Specially because of its Lag sensitivity.

If anything it would make it even more Narutoeske.

"Pretty decent"? - the hot fix pot adjust was overkill while not touching TA in any kind... being the 4th(?) strongest cls atm? with 2nd best utility in the game...

yeah... I would call that "decent" as well... imo they just should get rid of TA or hand it over to Brd to give Nin a slight chance to be balance for once... : /

who said i compare Nin with other melees? Actually the intention at launch was right Nin & Dnc at bottom due to TA & steps - sure Nin aDps was a bit too low yeah but with TA untouched the pot adjusts were bit over the top : /

At the bottom of what? Bottom of the aDPS or the rDPS charts. If you're talking about rDPS (which is the metric that is important) you're not making any sense, if you're talking about aDPS... well you shouldn't.

The cool thing about the site that must not be named is that we actually can see exactly how the classes balance after the 5.05 changes. Even with the increase in overall dps from trick attack, Ninja is still behind the other melee dps and BLM. It is amazing to me that people claim that nin is over the top now, when they are still behind 4 other classes in terms of overall dps output (this is rDPS, which includes the increase from trick attack).

If you disagree with this statement, then you are not using the plethora of real data available to us by the site which must not be named.

you're really just trying to start a flame war. look it up yourself. i think ninja is fine the way it is but dont want them to remove any skills unless its TA. Keep the fast flow just more fluid and we are set.

Even after the potency changes, NIN is still ranking #5 in overall rdps, behind BLM, MNK, DRG, and SAM. This is a comfortably decent spot IMO.


To be fair, I would like to see the bottom performing classes brought up a bit so that everything is more competitive. BRD, RDM, DNC, and SMN could use some help.
