As is expected and should be.
You shouldn't get "priority" or a better chance because you've been trying for longer. It's meant to be fair game for everyone. No advantages, no pay-to-win options (Excluding relocation.) and if you catch anyone botting, then report them, perhaps?
With that logic they should never have changed it from "first come first serve", I could literally apply your logic to any terrible system and justify it. "There can only be one hundred level 80 characters on the server at one time. Just because you have a job doesn't mean you have the right to be level 80. Just wait for one of the level 80 people to quit the game and you'll have your chance. Why should you have priority? Fair is fair."As is expected and should be.

"What?? You want to be able to go into an inn to change your glamour? You realize that there's only 15 inn instances in the game right? Why should you have priority to the inn when other people wanna use the glam chest too? Just wait your turn, fair is fair."
"Man I can't believe that people are STILL complaining that only 8 people can benefit from completing a fate, and the other 20 people who helped get nothing. Just because you were there doesn't mean you should get priority access to rewards, video games don't work that way. Fair is fair, just keep at it and maybe you'll get lucky enough to get the reward."

While yes, you can. But that'd make it wrong. Once again (for the thousandth time it seems), people shouldn't get an advantage or a better edge at obtaining completely optional content. Would you be happy to know that you lost your house because Mr Jakobs had +5% to his chances because he was unlucky? I doubt it. People are already cutthroat even when the odds are equal. With that logic they should never have changed it from "first come first serve", I could literally apply your logic to any terrible system and justify it. You call a congested server home? Good job. You have to fight for what you want and enjoy people claiming you're toxic and a worthless human being because you got it instead of them. The pros of being in a community that puts a bundle of 1s and 0s in higher regard than basic human life.
The problem is you can call ANYTHING Completely optional content. You can call EX mounts optional content, but they still found a way to give it to everyone (99 totems). You can call dungeons optional content because there are multiple other ways of leveling. You can call glamours or even getting to level 80 "optional content" Just cause you decided it's "optional content" doesn't mean it HAS to be THIS HARD to obtain. Why do you think housing is the only one that NEEDS to be this hard? While yes, you can. But that'd make it wrong. Finally I call a congested server "home" because I have been on this server since ARR and it wasn't congested at the time. I returned during the end of SB and I shouldn't HAVE TO pay real money to switch servers to access content that I would like to have. I don't understand the point of your last sentence. Why are you belittling people who just want to own a home in a video game?

I'm not belittling them. I just find it worrying that they prioritize said bunch of 1s and 0s over basic human functions.
And why is housing this hard to obtain? Well, here's the time-old response. Housing was never meant for everyone. It is a Luxury, not a privilege.
Regardless of whether or not I agree with you, the point stands. People DONT LIKE this system and they're all entitled to give their opinions just as you are. I just pointed out the flaw in your logic that's all, it didn't really bring anything to the table since it's a perspective brought up from pure subjective opinions. For example you say "it's fair" I don't believe it's fair. We have already hit a roadblock in the discussion, because you completely skipped over an important point and labeled it as fact despite the fact that I, and many others, disagree with it.
I agree it's a luxury, but I think they can find a way better and much more immersive/fun way to implement the system.

And herein lies the true issue with housing in this game. I have heard this same nonsense being thrown around for years. Housing was once a luxury. Prices make it so that pretty much anyone can now afford it. There's a false sense of exclusivity here, and repeating it over and over doesn't make it true. Now housing is a race and has created a good deal of animus - as evidenced by the many many posts in this forum. It is no surprise that people dislike the system, as it pits players against one another. That needs to be fixed. This whole haves vs. have nots is unhealthy for any game.
PS I own a home and have no real dog in this fight. I just cannot conceive of why the system is left in the state it is in when it is creating so much unrest among the player base.

Those who spent the time, got houses back during the housing expansion of Feb 6th 2018. Where were these current house seekers at the time? Doing something else? Playing a different game? Well that's their punishment then for not putting in the time. A Johnny-come-lately is rightfully at a disadvantage.
