We essentially had that until SE decided to lower/consolidate prices... twice...

Oh yeah, let's just ignore how there's never been so much gil in circulation. Get out of here with your RMT bogeyman, it's getting old.

Housing shouldn't be based on how much money someone has to spend. Those with enough gil for the house at normal price should be able to buy it. Sorry not in favor of this idea in the least.

The only way to get rid of RMT, in its most popular form, is to make gil even more affordable than what it currently sells for and being able to trade any amount of gil between servers on the same data center has pushed the prices down to an all time low so that's really not happening.

In the grand scheme of things, RMT is here to stay and it's a very poor argument to counter anything since everyone supports RMT in one way or another (regardless of if it's intentional or not).

Once again, there's never been so much gil around, but you'd rather keep the housing prices at a ludicrously low level instead of taking larger chunks of gil out of the game. Totally makes sense...

Too bad Square Enix doesn't agree with you.

Last time I Checked, as long as you have the 3whatever Million for a S house, it was pretty random who bought it. Could be standing there for 5min. or 27h. And the amount of Gil on the bank account doesnt matter.
So SE does agree with the statement - money doesnt matter. Just luck and time.

What does matter is, if you have a efficient Macro running. Was on a House-Hunting last week. Took me 2 Days of clicking like a mad man and finally got one. Most of the players standing there where using hotkeys or something. What is pretty unfair, bc PS4 players cant just go afk to work or something like the PC ones who can write those macros.

LOL I have an enough gil to buy an entire ward - that's all small, medium and larges and to furnish all of them. Don't tell me about gil. Sorry but SE has done the right thing and has not allowed a bidding system and the wealthy to be the only ones to own housing. Oddly enough the current system allows anyone with the right amount of gil to buy the house so yes SE does agree with me.

And I'm no stranger to clicking placards. I did that recently on Balmung for 6 hours to acquire a small plot for my FC there and then relocated it to a poolside house next to the pool area in the goblet when auto demolition kicked in on the 7th.

And this is one of the reasons why players use bots in FFXIV.

It's cool and all, but just because you have a couple hundred mil doesn't mean you can lol. That being said, thanks for proving me right by mentioning how plots have different prices based on size (and desirability). Let's not forget about devaluation... which is essentially a reversed auction.

    Catch up my lala

If a plot becomes available at 4 pm and someone buys it at 4.44pm then the sale time will be 4.44pm but the plot still became available at 4 pm Not saying that plots become available at the top of the hour but just because you see a sales time doesn't mean that the plot became available at the exact same time as the sales time (but yes I realize when people are camping the availability time of the plot and sales time of the plot will probably be identical).

Better idea, remove the grandfathering that lets older players *keep* the entire wards they've purchased to free up more houses, keep the one house per server rule in place, and remove the random timers altogether.
