sure id love a "M viera and F hroth now in development etc etc" but itll most likely just be about 5.1 ,ultimate,relic,raid,Ishgard,new dungeon,possibly design winner gear etc etc

If they wanna address "Missing Genders" again after already saying they can't make promises, then they need to actually show something. Cause the only reason they would talk about it again at this point is if they plan on doing it, and if so, Give us something tangible other then words.
Plus Id just like to know what they look like instead of reading what people Want/Think they will look at, and seeing tumblr fanart. (Again some of it looks cool, but most of it is just not my taste)

If they have nothing to show, its just a waste of time.
So yeah, they should just focus on the stuff thats actually coming, not talking about something that isn't.

They're unlikely to address the situation again so soon, though that doesn't mean it isn't an important issue - because it quite clearly is to a fair few players. There's also already a lot of, arguably, redundant information provided during Live Letters. We're told that new MSQ's are coming each new patch, for instance, though that is obvious at this point yet precious time is spent outlining it nonetheless.

Nothing screams "the right thing" more so than rushing out two incomplete races so badly that not even the half-bit that they did rush out is in an acceptable state.

Why are gender locked races the right thing?

But thats the thing, if the pages were exactly flipped ( male viera protecting home and female being the silent ninja warriors that are never seen) i honestly think it would be about the same.

There is a lore behind viera thats been there for years, and although SE doesn't have to follow said lore, a lot of fans want them to. And dont get on me about the car or outfits in the game, technically speaking, those things could all fit in lore wise, same as viera could have some sort of exception to be added to this game. While im at it, useing the fact that male miqote and fem roegadyn being added dosent exactly give reason why male viera SHOULD be added by proxy. Again, xiv races are sort of the same as the races from xi and it to the in game world being blown up and reset ( new director taking over and turning around a dead game) for those to even be added, and more than likely those were only added to get people to come back and give the game a shot again.

Xiv is not a dieing game and is doing pretty well for itself, so they dont NEED to add male viera and fem hroth, but i do see why people want them added. Maybe im just an old gamer, but when it comes to haveing male or female only races, it honestly doesn't bother me. Iv had games where you cant make a black human male or even black hairstyles or faces, and iv still played them, despite at those points where i wanted to make a character look like myself in some way.

I think people and making an issue out of something that isn't an issue. Can we have male viera? Sure, but do we need male viera? No. All the arguments here can already be answered in game. We have rugged males and feminine males, we have tall and short males as well as well as elegant males. All people here want is a male with bunny ears in all honesty and to be frank, no matter what they add, it will not be what any of you want. Someone will be upset in some way or another at how they came out, just browsing this thread alone, you can see so many different ideas as to what people want, I wouldn't be surprised if SE just didn't add them so they wouldn't upset a large group one way or the other. And heck, from the looks of things, only people in NA are giveing SE all this guff over it (And that already isn't a large group on its own.), I don't really see the same explosiveness going on in JP or other areas. The only race that did bring anything new to this game was hrothgar, because there were NO beast races ( although i really wished lupin was added and not another cat race).

Yes and in practice they're Roegadyn with a cat mask. Huge innovation there. All they did is cannibalise Roegadyn numbers. The game did not "need" them in any sense and what they added was nothing much new. I'd like to see them perform well so that SE has an incentive to add male Viera. In essence, it was little more than a rushed attempt to grab these vaunted WoW refugees.

The lore defence is garbage, BTW. Viera males do exist in other settings and Matsuno had no issue with them being added. It isn't a "lore defence". It's a "SE didn't get round to adding them in XII, so they shouldn't be added in XIV" defence.

But if it doesn't bother you or (allegedly) the JP crowd, whatever. Seems more like that the JP crowd have made their views on the matter known and have moved on since. Not that they don't care.

It's simple: to the people who want them added, it is an issue.

As I said, Hrothgar are nothing special, were not necessary and could have been implemented in a dozen different ways. They're just Roegadyn with cat masks. Wow.

So, none of those points really disqualify male Viera.
