Those are supposed to be dinos? The one above looks like a carrot. If I wanted a reptile, or rather "dino" race playable it would definitely be something way cooler than that..

...then I wouldn't be furious as I find so far every concept for male Viera bodies nice. =U.U=
(Is DBriggs304 as a seemingly FFIV-fan into remixes of the game's music?)
Figured I'd show this here. They're my viera's children Ljfr ♂, Njfna ♀ & Raðgr ♂. Raðgr's gender was discovered just two years ago, so he's still looking very effeminate. c:
Great kids; it's also great that you follow the naming conventions. I wonder what naming conventions Male Viera would use, will it be similar to female Viera or deviate in some ways? I think it would be great if the male ones used vowels to because it's important to say their name loudly and clearly since they live isolated. Anyway I'm really looking forward to a complete male + female Viera race, I really don't like this idea that an mmo race should exist without both genders, it's such an outdated concept based on outdated gender roles and outdated player expectations. Just because the playerbase wants to play cute-sexy female Viera doesn't mean they don't also want to play cute-sexy male Viera. What gets me the most is that the Viera/Hrothgar decision was a corporate level decision and not so much an artistic one, that's what really grinds my gears.

Naming conventions are probably either similar or same, though it depends on culture, and we still don't know enough about it even from other games where Viera were presented (mainly because there was no need for it, since male Viera were never shown).Great kids; it's also great that you follow the naming conventions. As far as we know, until puberty girls and boys aren't distinquishable - it does, in fact, raise another question (and I don't remember if it's explained anywhere or not): when lore stands that males and females aren't distinquishable until puberty, what exactly it stands for? That they don't know the gender at all? Or that they know, but since they are still kids, boys are just allowed to live in village until puberty? The answer can affect naming noticeably.
If we imply that they can't tell the sex until puberty at all, then there are 3 scenarios I can think about:
a) there is no male/female name concept among Viera to begin with;
b) they change their names once they step into puberty when it becomes clear who's who.
c) they do it similar to Tumet tribe (Au Ra, Xaela), where children don't have names at all until their 10th summer, when they need to pass the trial, and if they are succefful at it - they get the name and are allowed into the tribe. This can be adapted to Viera as well, but without a trial, just no names until they reach puberty.
And if we imply they can tell sex but just allowed to live in villages before reaching puberty, then there's no any real issues with naming, and boys and girls can be named as in any other race (though I personally like non-gendered names concept). In this case the name question would be just what names sound like, without the deep need to consider other factors.

If it was an artistic one, there wouldn't have been any viera.Great kids; it's also great that you follow the naming conventions. Not true, that was PR/marketing babble. The backlash if they said "We were creating Viera but then we saw the down-slide of World of Warcraft, the closing of Guild Wars 2, and the decline of Elders scrolls and decided to add a race that would appeal to them. Let's not act like we don't know how corporations work. They're not always goody two shoes who always tell the truth.
This was 100% a corporate level decision no matter what they say. Au ra was their chance to add this "variety" they talk about. Let's be real here for at least 1 second.

This thread wouldn’t be complete without it’s spicy hot takes. There’s no reason not to believe the official story of “we wanted to add hrothgar but viera were popular so we made a decision to split the difference”. This thread is a lot of things but conspiracy theories doesn’t help the image of “the cause”.Not true, that was PR/marketing babble. There's no reason to believe their official PR story either, specially considering the points I brought up. There was never any precedence to their sudden love for beastial races, not here in NA/EU. If they site Japan for their love of Lupin I call BS on that, Au ra was a race made as a love gift to the japanese playerbase.
Their hrothgar story is easy to break down and refute in every direction.

Do you have solid proof of this, or is this one of those "common sense" theories that people love to make up?There's no image of the cause, there's just we want them to complete the race.

Btw, Viera are already complete, Male Viera would technically be an Addon, because a visual of a Male Viera has never in canon been seen with our own eyes or even Offically been seen with a Finalized Illistration by the company nor creator.
