I'm aware. Poor wording on my part - I usually mean "removed as soon as possible" when using the term 'immediately' in that context.

And it does matter, actually. I don't pay to play this game so others can leech off me actually putting in effort to accomplish goals and finish runs.

And if an instance fills with 8 people all expecting to afk, guess what happens? While it's highly unlikely to happen, that is irrelevant. If we were all as selfish as the people getting away with this, the instance timers would run out and we'd all get nothing. So I shouldn't have to pick up the slack for people that don't want to play.

    Queue to play, not AFK.™

Mobs lose their aggro once you go into the corridor before Nero.

Not really. You're judging a multi-faceted person based on their stance of one particular roulette that just wants to get in and get it done.

Probably shouldn't openly admit to abusing game mechanics to skip unskippable cutscenes on the forums. I know this particular exploit exists, as do many others, and never once have I ever considered abusing it. If you queue for MS Roulette, you know what you're getting into and should plan accordingly. If you're willing to abuse poor game mechanics, carry leechers, etc., then I'm sorry, but yes that does tell me all I need to know about you with regard to this game, and I wouldn't want to team with you. Let's stamp the good ol' "difference in playstyle" on this one...

I know the MS Roulette instances are old, and easy, but that's no excuse.

You can virtue signal that I'm terrible for being apathetic toward AFKers and leechers or people disconnecting just to try to make it faster, but it's not going to change my mind.

*Laughs.* No where did I say I actually do skip cutscenes. It was an example, though I can see where my wording would give you the impression that I'd abuse it. You'd know I sometimes just suck with words if you knew me. Can you give me definitive proof that I actually do it and not just words on a forum? No, you can't. I can tell you I have purple purple hair and that's all you'd have to go on. That doesn't change my stance on running the dungeon as quickly as possible and not caring what most of the other people do for a majority of the run. Nor does it tell you about me and more so a point that we agree to disagree on with a single subject. If you cannot make that distinction, oh well.

Again, I just want to get in and go and I don't care if people are AFK in a poorly implemented roulette that was great the first time I experienced it, but is now just outdated and annoying. Especially if no one is new to the instance. If anything, I hope the amount of AFKers and people willing to disconnect to skip the cutscenes demonstrations how bad this really is. Make it a bunch of cutscenes with trials where the bosses were, a trust dungeon, a squadron dungeon, something, than what it is now. If people kick those AFKers and they keep rejoining, I hope that drives the point home even more to the XIV development team that this is long overdue to be changed. The amount of threads complaining about the cutscenes, or in this case, leeches, doesn't seem to make much of an impression and hasn't in years.

Except then what happens when get those that do the cut scene skip method or people who mash through cut scenes few of fights can be beat before those not mashing get out of them.

We outgear the instances up to 9.2 times, a DPS check would be a joke. Now if they place a ilvl limit on both, then no one would queue for it ever again except for those that really need it.

I was in a group last night and frankly we were all trolling around, some of us /playdead during Ultima Weapon lmao. It is sad that the once hardest instances at the time have been reduced to this :P.

I didn't get why everyone hopped out of the mounts before the big door though..I guess I know why now.

Probably the same reason leeching is tolerated in most content: there's not enough difficulty in the instance to care.

In that case, they need to prevent the lift from operating unless all 8 players are on it and have their keys activated. There's always someone who's in a rush and hits controls before everyone is on it, and it's not uncommon for someone to not get their key (usually a new player who doesn't understand they also need to click the panel). By the time it comes back down so the players left behind get on, the rest of the group is far enough ahead they can't catch up to help clear the path.

Hard to blame someone for basically AFKing through the magitek ride when someone else in the group made that decision for the player. Maybe we should be kicking the person who activated the lift too fast instead?
