Why healer armors are all ugly?

I basically always wear robes in RPGs, regardless of class. I wouldn't mind some more stuff that's long in the back and shorter in the front, like the orator's coat and the ramie robe.

But what I really, really want is a version of the velveteen cowl where the hood is down. It would be the perfect simple sorcerer glamour.

Even robes weren't enough for DRK, though. I had to combine a hannish wool shirt and a skirt to make myself a frilly dress. Because really, who doesn't want to look like a cross between a high-class Victorian lady and a potato with a giant sword?

like the others, I mostly glam over almost every gear set. I think the last gear set I didn't completely glammed over was the Bonewicca one. I like most of FFXIV's steampunk-inspired designs (the Shire set I loved), but Squeenix is obviously sticking to their templates for the rest of their gear sets. healers have the "people of faith" gear design, it's like the Catholic Pope is their go-to model. needless to say, I'm not fond of it. on the other hand, when I find time I get to exercise a bit of creativity and change up my glam :3

I have more faith in the Fan designed sets we're getting in this expac. Since they have to manage to fit the theme in from those designs into the other jobs it aren't meant for.

All gear from middle of Heavensward on has been ugly. They need to quit there copy and paste outfits. Be nice if they try to create nice looking outfits that aren't super ugly.

It's almost like...programming new art assets for several body types... takes alot of work and sometimes... it doesn't hurt to cut corners.

I love all the people on here defending the gear like it's actually nice! Like seriously? Are you new to the game or something? Healer gear is hideous, it's all damn dresses! Maybe if you play as a female character it's not bad, but try the gear playing as a male toon. It's all dresses! You get a new set of gear, try it on and oh look it's a to the floor long green dress, how nice.

Glamour of course is an option but the biggest problem with glamour is that you're still locked by what can be glamoured to a healer, meaning you're restricted to special level 1 items or mogstation items just to find anything half decent. I don't want to look like a healer, why can't I look like a DRK while healing or SAM?

As soon as I unlock any new gear the first thing I do is glamour it to something I bought on mogstation and I've had the same glamour for years now since the variety is so terrible.

Cute. It doesn't change the fact that gear is far from the only assets the art team has to dedicate time to.

Nor does it change that the designs for the gear is lazy. Personally, I don't think it's that big of a deal, there are even pieces I do like from ShB, but a flaw is still a flaw and one people can and will critique.
