Cya in the next mmo then! (Hopefully not) Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!
Also thanks for the horrible ideas OP.

That is factually wrong.
For one it'd make the Eden raids next to pointless since gil provides comparable gear. I'm sitting on 150 mil but I could spend it on getting 450 gear sets for all my jobs or melding my crafting gear to be relevant for 5.1 ahead of time if I so desired. I'd essentially "win" at crafting since I'd make no effort to craft the absolute best in no time at all if I could just use real money to get there day 1. The estimated cost of a future proof set of crafting gear for all jobs is 60.7M (https://www.xivcraftingguide.com/505...als#gear-melds). Even for the players swimming in gil, that's a lot to gamble on a capitalist venture that might not even pay for itself.

First add something to the game to need that much gil. Then we can talk.
I've played several MMORPGs for years, starting with Everquest (and before that text muds). Bots are a part of online games for sure, I'm not debating that. But the level of botting in FFXIV at the point is too much. Way too much.It most definitely can get far more P2W than being able to boost characters to level 70 (not max) or to complete older MSQ. Is this your first MMO by chance? Bots are just a part of online games. Some handle them better than others, but they are always a thing. Simply allowing players to buy gil is not the best solution.
Yes. 1000% yes.
I don't see a problem here. People usually complain about P2W in the context that it negatively affects other players' experience. This doesn't affect anyone but yourself, and I'd be more than happy to let people pay real money to fast-track their way to their own weird personal satisfaction. For one it'd make the Eden raids next to pointless since gil provides comparable gear. "But it would make Eden dead content!"
I assure you, there would not be enough people spending real money to make Eden dead content.
If you can afford to pay $1000/month sub, you should probably just design your own game with that money and play that instead.
I don't understand why this is such a horrible idea? I mean you can buy Gil now right? Heck, you can just run bots yourself. You won't get banned. All this would do is make it legit. Keep in mind, I'm choosing a lesser of two evils here. If SE would actually do something about bots, then no, of course I'd rather they not sell gil. But that's not going to happen.
