Its the downside of drip-feeding expansion content, and the reason why Frontloading content is always a better option.

People are basically in a holding pattern for 5.1 to add a SIGNIFICANT amount of content: New crafting stuff, most likely diadem v4, possibly the start of ShB relics, info on personal farming, info on ShB housing, new Alliance raid, new Trial, info on NG+ and I'm sure i forgot something else that hasnt already been pushed back to 5.3 (Blue Mage level 70?), at least some of which probably could and should have been in 5.0 or early in the 5.0x series of patches.

I know people have been brainwashed to believe raiding is the only endgame. It simply is not true. Every player decides what end game means to them.
'Endgame' content is content that both advances your character and can only be done at level cap.

Or, right now, raids and faffing about for tomestones.

Eureka was a mixed bag for me but I mostly enjoyed it.
Eureka was okay. It certainly showed us that 14 is not in any way designed to be played with significant uptime, especially level synced, though. Fate trains relieved the "I have to press a button every gcd for hours or chains will drop" wrist strain, thats for sure.
