actually, 1 week after FanFest ppl stopped attacking ppl who wanted male hrotgar and started attacking ppl who wanted male viera

I didn't really see that tbh I saw more people who liked hrothgar, and for ages, there have been people asking for a more beast-like race.

I don't really look at twitter and reddit much, so I wouldn't know about that. I only know about player reactions on the forum. Just to make it clear, I don't agree with hate on hrothgars, and if there's a large amount of people on those sites claiming people only want to play hrothgar for erp reasons or because of bara, then I don't agree with that either.

If you read back, someone else brought up the past of this thread so I did as well. If you don't like it, aim it at them.

I am sorry, I do not follow every post in this thread and just came back to check in to voice my support for male Viera again.

Instead of warming up old hate maybe we should focus on the future more. Do you guys think we might see more of Ivalice and the source's Vieras in future patches? Or Hrothgar in general? I really hope we get to learn more about them as soon as the WoL is back to the source after ShB. Would also be a good time to introduce the missing genders.

I almost left the game because of how toxic the community was if you even expressed your excitement for them. Reddit was bad. Twitter was bad. The forums were bad.

It was definitely horrible. The worst of the posts have, quite rightly, been removed by the moderators though a simple glance at the earlier pages in the thread still shows some questionable accusations aimed at the development team.

I hope so. I'm really interested in the source's viera since that's where we're from. Perhaps viera culture is a bit different on the source, so I'd like to see more about that.

While I disagree with just about everything you say, I can agree with this.

I don't think people should accuse and insult each other over playable character races. Everyone has their preferences, but that doesn't mean they have some erp agenda, nor does it make them a furry or whatever.

Let me set the record straight in saying I don't care if you're gay, straight, bi, black, white, purple, or orange or anything else you identify as. I'm tired of the toxicity that resides in this community. And a lot of it comes out here and it's infuriating and exhausting.

When the genderlock was first announced yes there was a lot of toxic behaviour from both sides, made me take a step back from game. My comments are my own experiences on forums, reddit ect not a pop at you or anything and I am sorry you had to deal with folks giving you jip, your hrothgar looks cool and you have every right to be happy.

I just dislike how unfinished they are along with viera but they are working on that

If people are going to claim that Viera were intended for that sole purpose (which they did), it's hardly shocking to hear people (like myself) express much the same view of Hrothgar.

It's not really a fair assessment of how either race is used in general, but it certainly applies in both cases, and I find it odd that the bunny women get singled out for it or that it is claimed that Viera should not be added because it's just for ERP, when we see both races being used in that way, as if it is relevant.

I don't see why my post vanished but I presume it was to do with what was being quoted, so I will re-state it - neither race adds anything I deem particularly novel or interesting in their present implementation, but all the same I would have rather they added one at a time in a complete form and prioritised char customisation/texture upgrades over that.

What they instead did is a poorly executed rush job.

Happy 1001 pages everyone! Bickering aside it's pretty fantastic that this thread has made it this far. People on other sites still support the issue and continue making fan art as well.
