I'm not sure why there's such opposition to the idea that visible gear should be usable by all characters. Why argue against this at all?

Because the gear is fine as it is and not everything is for every body type. If you feel males should have cooler gears, then yeah, they should get gear perfectly designed for them. If females should get trench coats, design something suitable for them. I'd rather developers work on that; much better than spending resources on redesigning old gear for a vocal minority that'll use it one time. And I see no reason to oppose THIS. Let people have special items. Kyrlie's outfit already proved not every race is meant to share certain glam
