No. If you don't like genderlocked glam, then don't wear it. Not everything needs to be gender neutral.

Yes it is. Its such a low blow to resort to criticizing my character's lipstick, when you have nothing else to say. I don't have a problem with genderlocked items. 1) They tend to be designed for the gender they're made for 2) some pieces aren't meant for all body types. Krile's outfit, for instance, is terrible for anyone that isn't a Lalafell (because it was designed FOR a Lalafell). Some people need to accept they can't have absolutely everything.
Then let them make more male exclusive items. The problem is A lot of the Male only stuff usually looks more appealing to folks like me who enjoy the whole Longcoats and combat boots vibe.
Meanwhile the Female only sets are more extravagant and flashy. some folks like making their characters look flamboyant and/or cute (especially lalas)

I'm proud of this look. I can care less what people say about it. I gave him a lot more respect than he deserved since I avoid speaking ill of people's characters (though his WHM coat leaves a lot to be desired). I'm more disappointed people agreed with a petty insult about makeup, than about anything related to genderlocked items. The quality of the ffxiv community has gone down in recent years and it showed

There are actually quite a lot of male exclusive items on the Mogstation, just as there are female ones. Off the top of my head I recall fashions from Ayermic, Hien, Gosetsu, Thancred X2, Snow, Tidus, Papalymo, Cid, Urianger as well as the male versions of all of the special Far Eastern/Lord/Prince sets. Sure there are female counterparts to many of these like Yda, Minfilia, Y’shtola, etc. but they are not the same.
There are plenty of gender neutral fashions in the game itself. Then on top of that most of the tank armor is not designed with female players in mind. I think they have gone over and above when it comes to this type of accommodation.
What I wish more than anything as far as clothing locks go in the game, I wish the SE team would remove the race locked fashions like on the undergarments. Along with this, I wish they would simplify gear (other than artifact gear) into DOW and DOM, DOL and DOH - thus removing the class restrictions. This would open up so many more options for all players without the team having to make ANY adjustments whatsoever (except for the underwear).
Removing class locks would be so easy, much easier than gender locks. It also would have the greatest overall benefit to the whole player base. I don’t understand why it hasn’t been done. The very least could be grouped tank, caster, melee, ranged. I thought they mentioned earlier on that they were going to do more of that. I see some DPS classes combined, but some are still lone wolves. It is just frustrating when the fashion is right there and you cannot use it.
Just my two cents.![]()
