You appear to misunderstand, the person who stole the money from the FC chest was in our FC for less than an hour, was level 1, and a default hyur.

There's no chatlogs because he wasn't on long enough to get to know anyone since he just came to steal our hard earned gil.

Edit: only 10 people in our 160 strong FC have access to our gil and this person came in, got my friend to promote him, took the gil, then left. if we trace this persons IP it's likely to be the same as the one my friend logged in as when he mysteriously turned austrian.

Edit 2: all people that can access gil can promote people and no one else, we run a pseudo democratic FC where the 10 people at the top all have full power.

Edit 3: I know 10 seems like a lot but I know them all personally and we've helped make the FC thrive, I know where all of them live and none have gone to Austria OR have access to my friend's account (where the austrian IP log in came from in the first place). This isn't some crazy inside job, this is a hacker that used exploits in order to steal a large amount of gil utilising my friend's account. Please check your conspiracy theories at the door, as fun as they are.

Hopefully final Edit: I know how a freakin' FC chest works, what I don't get is how people can straight up hack into an account, steal 88 million gil with their NAME in plain sight on the chest history and get away with it. It's not exactly the zodiac killer level of mystery is it?

Final final edit: People are forgetting that the 88 mil is easily traceable and as far as I know they have no intentions to remove this stolen money from the game, making RMTers make a massive profit of however much 88 mil goes for. Will they actually prosecute the criminals? who knows?
