

Econ 101 also states increased competition is good for the market, but you seem to really hate that one.


The environment in an MMO is fundamentally different. Increased competition in the real world is good because it promotes innovation, but in the game we're all limited to producing identical goods in a more or less identical fashion. Innovation isn't possible. Competition is good, but only to a certain extent. I want competition in markets for which I am a buyer and I want a monopoly for markets in which I am a seller. Of course, that's not all that unlike the real world either.
