That's a really nice remedial lecture you've got there. It'd be a shame if all it did was show you didn't grasp the point. My, how smug of you. Tell me, is there anyone else you'd like to exclude from things just to make yourself feel superior? I'll start a list for you.
The gradual devaluation of markets is a normal market trend that happens regardless of whether Reuse exists or not. As more supply enters the market it will eventually exceed demand and the price will decrease as a result. This is economics 101. Reuse may accelerate that process somewhat (though I'd want some data to back that up), but I doubt it's by very much.
A decent indicator here is treasure dungeon materials since that just happened.
So Indigo Cloth on my server started at like 600k a pop. It's at about 250k per now. Is that because Reuse exists and everyone's out there HQing their summer indigo stuff and getting mad procs (which would generate 1 cloth per proc)? Or is it because there are more people doing maps and more cloth just being generated by the game as a result? I'd say it's far more likely that option B is causing that more than option A, especially when the stats necessary to HQ that thing are non-trivial to begin with.

Dang. I didn't realize I wasn't benefiting from it, despite heavily benefiting from it.The button may as well be named "Devaluation." It serves no essential purpose within the crafting sphere of the game. It just devalues all materials and end products, which helps nobody except people who interact with the player economy solely to buy, and those players are unworthy of consideration to begin with.
I don't think people get it. Reuse isn't that unreliable, you just have to use it on a large scale. You can't take 2 Nidhogg Scales, expect 5 weapons and draw your conclusion that the skill isn't all that great after your first Reclaim fails. But if you take 50 Nidhogg scales, you're extremely likely to end up with a couple of hundred weapons because rng will balance out.
I procced 12 weapons off one scale today and I'm sure others have done better.
It's not a supply source, it's a supply multiplier.
Again, false.
It makes the rich players incredibly rich. If I can afford to buy 100 Nidhogg Scales and 50 Dancing Wings, I can churn out endless items, sell them at reduced prices and still make a massive amount of profit. The common player can hand over 500k-1m for my Nidhogg weapon, which is a far cheaper price, but it's something I generated almost for free. Your Nidhogg weapon isn't anything special anymore, now there are thousands floating around the market.
It benefits me considerably, but it really isn't how the economy should be. The skill is plainly broken. No crafter ability should be capable of generating 10 additional Primal items almost out of thin air.

I'm selling approx 30 Niddhogg weapons which I got from 5 scales thanks to reuse. Does it feel broke? Well, at least it doesn't really feel working as intended. I'm not complaining as long as I'm making a lot of profit with minimal effort. I can see why people are frustrated that the scales drop so quickly in prices but then again HW Ex Trials are soloable so personally I don't think the weapons should be worth that much anymore. Friend of mine is dumping tons of them for 800k - only ones complaining are the others who want to catch up to the gil train.
"Pray return to the workshop room."

Using 1 Wing, I made only 2 Titania barding.
Then I tried Seiryu Barding, and I spent 2 scales without having a Reuse proc at all.
Then I tried Suzaku Barding, and I spent 1 feather without proc.
Well, it didn't feel broken for me. Perhaps I'm just VERY unlucky? :/
I wish it had proc more for me...
Now, wait a minute. Are we really going back to that RNG game again? Oh fxxk me...
“The best crafter is not the one with the best stats, but the one who makes the best use of one’s stats” – By Caimie Tsukino

It's def RNG. It's a 20-30% chance to proc reuse fighting against a 10% to fail reclaim.Using 1 Wing, I made only 2 Titania barding.

And we've all seen those double 90% fails during node gathers.
Those people who say reuse is op just haven't hit that bad RNG yet.

It's a gamble with the odds well in your favor.
- Assume the proc rate is 25%
- That leaves non-proc rate at 75%, with failed Reclaim as 10% of that, or 7.5% loss of material
- That means an average of around 13 attempts per material
- So you end up with a little more than 3 times the finished product you normally would
It's not broken, but it's pretty powerful.
The only left reason for the existens of gils in this game is to take a shortcuts. speed up things by buy stuff from other player. stuff you dont want to investigate time in![]()
