Issue with TBN

This is actually the opposite of what's happening. If TBN breaks you are not losing any mitigation. If you TBN and it doesn't break and drops off, then you are losing whatever shield you had left.

Let me rephrase: If you are not using TBN because you doubt it will break, you lose mitgation! And as I said, if you refrain from using mitigation as a tank, then there is something wrong.

I have no issue with it breaking, it's the cases when it doesn't. And they occur more often than you might think. (Even for high-end players.)
