Sorry to break it to you, but Direct Hit is only good if your raiding where you have to meet DPS Checks. It does nothing for Expert Roulletes when your doing large pulls with a Healer you just met 10 seconds ago lol.

Unless you can provide a video showing proof Tenacity is not 200 Tenacity = 1% damage increase, 1% damage mitigation, all your doing is trolling mainly the OP who is asking a legitimate question.

I also tested this myself when Eureka Anemos first showed up. After acquiring the Eureka Anemos Armor with 5 materia slots, i loaded it with Tier 6 Direct Hit and Crit on my PLD. Then i swapped it with Tenacity and Determination. My Damage barely fell but my Mitigation increased by a lot. It made Expert Roullete with randoms so much easier for me and the healer lol.

For the sake of this post. I don't do wall to wall pulls in expert roulette and really despise groups that do pull like that. I am looking to getting into Savage and ultimate groups for content and seeing that DPS checks are far more a thing than anything else really. I am not a true wow refugee in the sense that I have been playing both wow and FFXIV at the same time since 2.0. But I do know I have to adjust raiding mentality for FFXIV vs Wow. Difference being is that WoW has truly lost its luster for me and now that GNB is out and its rotational feel is what I have been looking for in a job and this game is hitting every stride I want in a MMO currently. (one last thing I want is romance options. But There is Fire Emblem and Dragon Age for that.) I want to take FFXIV raiding content more seriously instead of a side thing this time around.

Sorry to hone in on a specific part of your post... but what?

why do you 'really despise' efficiency, if the players are up for it? This is literally the difference between a 15 minute run and a 25 minute run, both of which are mostly spamming AoE combos.

This is a complete ME thing.

I don't play for the Efficiency of getting it over with as fast as possible That go go go mentality has bothered me even in WOW. I play the game for the enjoyment of the zones. The feel for the class. the boss fights. The music. The spamming of AOE abilities is really really boring to me. If I want good gear I go raid and attempt to do harder content than dungeons. The roulette's have been nothing more than something to pass the time with as gearing up through dungeons was never a issue or priority with me. The tombstones drop from all sorts of content and the rate of which I get them was never truly and issue for me.

Take Antitower zone for example. I will always take my time there because it is my absolute most favorite zone. The music gets me every time and the zone setting on your way to the castle is stunning.

I guess someone at my age the difference between 10-20 minutes is really negligible time to me. My play time is 1030 pm - 2am most week nights. Give or take 20 minutes doesn't mean much to me.

So the thing is mate, even in solo pulls its way better to spam aoe, because in most cases aoe efficiency takes over at 3 mobs, which very few pulls are under. Also if you don't like aoeing, that sucks but thats a you thing and I hope you don't tank for me, but at least pull more so the PARTY can aoe.

Haha chances are I will likely not because I haven't felt the need to do Expert roulette anymore lately. For leveling sure I do the daily one for the exp bonus but once I hit job cap I kind of stop doing them. A side effect for me not really wanting to do massive pulls is because I have been getting healers to tell me to do so... only to have him really really struggle in healing...and wipe the group. Just kind of thankful that SHB dungeons kind of keep pulls to 2 or 3 groups now adays.
