You need to be a Lancer to ride the Ifrit Ride.
You need to be an Archer to ride the Moggle Mog ride.
Sounds like it already exists in XIV so enhancing gameplay through gearswaps won't really do much lol.
Personally, I'd prefer something that doesn't involve standing around for up to 3 hours waiting to see which of the 100 in the zone get to fight something today.
So basically all other content from FFXI yet people seem to fixate on something not everyone did to try to make a statement about XI's content quality anyway?
Don't get me wrong, I loved most of FFXI's content, its what kept me playing it for 8 years. Even the HNMs were fun when you actually got to fight them. Its just the long camps of doing nothing that I'm against. I'd rather spend 3 hours killing mobs for a spawn item than spend 3 hours standing and waiting.
Edit: Just noticed my avatar on the left, my avatar when quoted and the avatar in my sig are all different. Weird.

While you might say this, look at XIV's pop rates, the NM's are always up, so you dont need to wait at all, and most of their repops are minutes.
But do you go do them at all? Nope! Because you likely got everything but now its a case of they are all useless where as the 3 kings on XI were never useless up until level cap increase, even then still not very useless and people still did them
So what is going wrong?
Just rewards being way out dated too quickly?
Too little rewards?
(eg dodore is only useful for 1 thing, where as kings in XI could be 4-5 things)
Or is it because of timers, and that everyone got what they wanted within a day since they spawned so often?

Before Materia Darkhold was quite popular. (I would love to be running around town in all blue gear).. of course it would need to be worth something first.
