You can't balance high risk high rewards. because people will eventually get good at taking those "risks" and it'll just be high rewards. Then DRK will become better than everybody else, and either get the nerf bat or become the mandatory meta.

Besides, anytime they do any sort of risk / reward people will complain anyway. Just look at TBN. BUT MY 500 POTENCY.

People have been complaining about TBN since its introduction. This is nothing new. In any case, they do have a valid argument. No other tank has to kick their own DPS out from under themselves.

Because TBN is no reward for a risk, only a punishment. You gain nothing by breaking it, you only keep your DPS neutral. Now, make the Dark Arts crit your next Flood/Edge on top of removing the mana cost, then you'd have a risk/reward skill.

Y: I usually compare FFXIV with a theme park, but the Forbidden Land of Eureka won’t be a place where everyone would want to go. For example, there are people who don’t want to go to horror houses because they don’t see the point in getting scared on purpose. For example, on a date, the boyfriend might want to invite the girlfriend to go the horror house, but the girlfriend just doesn’t seem to find it fun. In other words, it’s not like everyone wants to go to the horror house, but there are people who just love the adrenalin rush they get from it. Think of Eureka as something like that.
