Which would you say is more intuitive design?
At present we have numerous ability pairs or series where the latter literally cannot be used until the prior is already used and the prior cannot be used again during the time the latter is available. So, why use two buttons on what amounts to a single action?
These include Dream Within a Dream + Assassinate, (High) Jump + Mirage Dive, Dreadwyrm Trance + Deathflare, Summon Bahamut/Phoenix + Enkindle Bahamut/Phoenix, Hypercharge + Heat Blast, and then most numerously Continuation, Savage Claw, and Wicked Talon all dependent upon Gnashing Fang.
These aren't a huge deal as of yet, but there's no reason not to trim the slot or two, either. Else, Geirskogul-Nostrond, Fell Cleave-Inner Beast, and Decimate-Steel Cyclone, etc., would never have been tied together in the first place...
