Kind of fits our personality don't you think?

When the player base wanted Gunbalde Jobs they were basically acting like Siefer wanting to be a Sorcerer's Knight.

Also I feel that BECAUSE Squall is the go to Nostalgic Gunblade user that it is a good thing there’s more references to other users than just him. I’m just waiting for some Garlean style skills like Gaius’
I honestly think if they go Garlean Gunblader then it may be a different Job due to Gunbreaker's lore establishing Gunbreaker Gunblade and Garlean gunblade being different weapons due to their deisgn and functions

The Gunbreaker seem to be focus on being the Squall and Siefer Job by design.

True enough, the Garlean weaponry is also quite varied, we see regular gunblades, gunpikes, a freaking gungreatsword. The likelihood they make a Garlean based class seems slim but would be interesting, a Garlean deserter giving away Empire secrets to Eorzean heroes.

That is not a far off thing considering we know there are plenty of garlean deserters. Also, plenty of Garlean gunblades tend to be left behind in areas once occupied by Garleans and sometimes people may take those Gunblades as weapons such as in Stormblood side quest where a certain fish merchant sold a entire town Garlean Gunblades he found.

Can't forget about gun tonfas, gun hammers, and gun shields. The Garlean approach to infantry weapons seems like it's just taking a conventional weapon and attaching a gun to it.

Well that is how the Gunbreaker Job NPC describe Garlean Gunblades being a Gun with a sword attached to it.

Though as he said, garleans only began using Garlean gunblades after they discovered the Gunbreaker Gunblades and then based the Garlean Gunblades off that design but replaced the vibration blade function using Magic ammo with a Functioning Gun instead to utilize the Magic ammo for performing Magic Range attacks instead of spending that Magic Ammo to enhance the Blade's impact. Thus the Garlean Gunblade was made.

This concept can actually make a complete new Job with it and hopefully maybe a DPS Job. Gameplay wise the design maybe good for a Physical Damage version of Red Mage gameplay style but more focus on Melee attacking with the Range attacks being the off-combo part.

Thinking back on that line makes me laugh, you literally fight a garlean gunblade user that the job NPC is already familiar with in the 70 quest, describing his weapon as just a gun with a sword attached seems to be doing it a massive disservice.
Think maybe our job trainer was a little bitter about being a prisoner all that time (which would be more than fair tbh.)

I think that guy has a "special" one and was talking about the majority of gunblades we've seen.

To be fair, the majority of gunblades we've seen are special, the Empire doesn't equip the rank and file with them.

I mean, if 'gun with sword attached' is the canon then that's that, just bugs me because that isn't our experience in game at all.
The people equipped with that we actually fight have unique combat styles, but with recurring themes across users. Lot of dashing in and out of melee, lot of dropping fire on the floor, lot of creating those magitek X projectiles.

Well the most common Garlean Gunblade is Gaius designed one which only is seen to be used by High ranking officers of the Garlean Army. We see a shorter blade version of this design in Stormblood as well. (though a certain fish merchant did sell a entire village these things in a side quest)

Regual and Vitus's Gunblade is said to be the more latest designed Garlean Gunblade but it is still only exclusive to a few users of highest rank due to how recently it is made.
