Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Yeah, I got kind of tired of Viera, had a good run, but I am back to miqo'te. Hated that I couldn't wear preview headgear, including hats, plus all my hair I paid for/worked for in-game was locked out. I didn't think it would bother me so much. This will be a big problem with males too, for me especially.

One reason I play males, specifically as humans is because they are more normal/neutral and helmets look great on men. Viera obviously having no access, plus on top of that no access to hats kind of sucks.

The shared picture actually doesn't look too bad, but the ears are way too small, and the clothes they are wearing well... The left one looks better, in my opinion.

Personally, I think female viera are super unpolished at this point, and dont feel like something ready for 5.0 (I'd honestly rather have waited until 6.0 for both races full, or just make 1 now 1 6.0 or only 1)

Also, I higly doubt males will have all hairstyles or helmets (if any tbh) since theyll likely just stretch their resources so thin

I personally like both outfits, The left one looks like a cool blacksmith and the right one looks like a cool white mage, but I do get why it isnt your fashion choice ofc (Actually, the guy with the crop top looks kinda like what I'd wear irl lol). This ears, imo, should be the smallest (maybe the minimum should be a bit bigger tbh) of the ear sizes

It would probably be a logistical nightmare. They are still actively working on what we already have, and hrothgar are definitely getting the short end of the stick, unless they really go above and beyond with the new custom hair/faces.

Yeah, I'm not seeing blacksmith or White Mage in either of those outfits. The ears just look like longer miqo'te ears.

So now I wonder how much and how many people would care if the Hrothgar got shafted. Cause no matter how many times I see the occasional person say "Unlock The Genders" or "Both races should be Complete" We know the Viera crowd is the loudest one on this subject.

I think the Hrothgar are actually very popular. They are like the most popular large race currently actually, if I remember right. Thing about beast races is I think males are usually infinitely more popular, most definitely for larger races. Female hrothgar just don't have much demand.

Actually, the are the second least played male race (only like 4k more than male roegadyn) and the 3rd on the grand scheme of things (more than any sex of roes).

I think fem hrotgar would be a very, very rare sight, but certainly a sight to behold

As of the latest Census that I know of Hrothgar are legit tied with Male Elezen in numbers and more popular than the combined total Roes (as in males and Females). Which is no small feat given that male elezen saw an increase in players at the same time. Also there's around a 8K difference between them and Roebros.

Depending on how Female Hrothgar are designed they can be far more popular than I personally thought they would be (which was "less than Femroe" at first. Femroe aren't popular because of their design and body shape).

All that is kinda beside the point of adding them anyway so it's pretty moot.

Agreed actually. I just read they were making "new" faces, but you are probably right. "New" faces might just mean more of the same faces with a different hairstyle added to the face options. Maybe new fur patterns (?).

Male viera would definitely be more wieldy. They don't even have to manually edit most headgear. Just things like circlets, glasses, ribbons, general "minor" headgear. Viera is more of a traditional race, ear type - tail type, ear length - tail length. Not much to it; not complicated.

In the interview Yoshi talked about new hair styles and faces it seemed pretty clear he knew he was talking about new faces when he commented on that.

As in we got a definite yes to new hair styles and a "Yeah, we'll prob have to do that to. The team is ready" for new faces.

Yeah, I played Femroe for years, They're pretty awesome but I can easily see why more people don't play them. For example, you HAVE to be careful with how you dress them cause not everything is gonna look "right" on their body. As in, you can easily look like a man wearing female clothing in some female tops. You can easily look manly af which isn't too appealing to anyone playing a female toon.

I loved my Femroe but SE really screwed the pooch on them design wise. People don't seem to realize that SE want to make things look at least attractive by their JPN standards. Problem is they took a race of tall, soft, wide dudes and instead of making the females tall, soft and curvy (Thic) they made them tall and ripped ... and tossed in the bigg tits. Femroe turned out far from the "Snu Snu" body shape that I could see many playing and landed in "Sports instructor" lands.

I have no clue what they would do with Female Hrothgar. Depends on what they feel the defining traits of the race are. Some people think the defining traits are hunched over, big, buff, beastly. The devs can easily think that the traits are Animal head, fur and "laser focused on battle" as Yoshi put it and make something based on playing with that. For as big and ripped Femroe are they don't portray strength as much as Highlander Females for example so who knows.

Personally I think the Female Ronso look more like highlander females body wise so when I think about it my image of Female Hrothgar are animal headed highlander girls that have Sukeban themed animations. Not hunched over cause that looks terribad on people with breast but just as bad ass cause Sukeban.

In my opinion ,female roes anre great, and not all female characters need to be femenine or attractive waifus. Also, I do enjoy having manly women as my alts (hence why I like femroes so much) and I would have certainly not, for anything on this world, wanted female roes too look any less strong than they do (this is just my opinio ofc, u can have your own). I hope female hrotgar will look at least as strong as them, and not be some thicc waifus (again, just my opinion).

Actually ,thanks for letting me know, I was referring to a previous one. Anyways, we can see that beast races aren't that popular at all (mostly because, like I said, most players, or at least a very good chunk of them, are either into anime, japanese culture or anime asthetics, not into western ones. Hence why on games like WoW, where tis the opposite, beast races are so popular), and male viera would certainly beat male hrotgar numbers, but, that isnt the point, and after all it dosent even really matter. The point is, I speculate that female hrotgar will be extremely unpopular if they do them like they should, imo, beaslike, which wouldnt make them money, but I think that male viera has al the points to become super popualr and give em enough money (theyre the elegant/graceful, handsome and attractive elven styled race that this game lacks, elezen arent really any of that, they like, giraffes with akward anims) so that It wouldnt matter if fem hrotgar are unpopular, and I wouldnt not only mind playing them, but I would love seeing them arround from time to time. Is like, femroe is my favourite race (though I prefer to main a more elegant character).

Oh and dont get me wrong, I hope fem hrotgar would be as popular as fem miqote xD, but I certainly think its extremely unlikely

You are correct here, but there is an issue: July statistic isn't very accurate:

They are the most accurate we have right now. How that holds up over time? Who knows. Wont know til we get more.

Why did I know that whenever male hrotgar numbers were said, and confirmed to be rather low you'd get all aggressive even if I was respectful through all my points and made it clear it was just my opnion? Male hrotgar arent as popular as u headcannon them to be lol, there's 16k of them in the race statistics a guy posted on another thread, and thats even with all the new race hype, meaning therell be even less in 2-3 weeks (many less in 1-2 months probs). Saying male hrotgar arent and wont be popular isnt an attack on u or the race its just a fact, just like it is that female viera wont ever be as popular as uwu waifu catgirl or that male viera will likely also be at 2nd-3rd spot on the racial statistics
